Two limited edition Nissan GT-R sports coupes for the 2024 model year have been unveiled by the automaker's North American division in response to this week's announcement of the 2025 GT-R. With a subtle nod to the past, the two new models offer different takes on the aging nameplate and will only be produced in limited quantities.
Both the GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition and the GT-R Skyline Edition are special editions of Godzilla that will be produced in "very limited numbers" and should be available at Nissan dealers in the US by summer. Though the exact costs are still to be revealed, they should be more than the 2024 GT-R's starting price of more than $120,000.
GT-R T-spec Takumi: Honors The Takumi Masters
Paying homage to the earlier generations of Skyline GT-Rs, some versions of which now trade hands for very strong money will be a special, very exclusive hue of Midnight Purple for the 2024 GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition. Its interior will come in a unique color called Mori Green.
It has a gold VIN plate and a red etched engine badge with the name of the assembler. The GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition is an homage to the Takumi master artisans who hand-assemble each twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine for the GT-R. The Takumi Edition has the same improvement in mechanicals that the standard 2024 GT-R T-spec carries.
The features of the improvement include NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control and gold-painted RAYS 20-inch forged wheels. Further aiding the cause is NISMO, with its widened front fenders and carbon-ceramic brakes for the GT-R NISMO.
The 2024 GT-R Skyline Edition, on the other hand, is dressed in a well-known color: Bayside Blue. This color was phased out for the R34-generation GT-R and brought back for the 2019 50th Anniversary Edition model. The Sora Blue interior color scheme of the Skyline Edition, which is based on the GT-R Premium, makes it visually appealing as well.
Overall, all that can be summed up is the carmaker has not yet disclosed how many GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition will be made, but they will both only be offered in restricted quantities.
