MG Windsor EV Propels 28-percent Growth in Q2 Sales

Windsor EV, having increased the EV sales by 28 percent QoQ and achieved a growing market share, MG has won the second position among the electric cars sold in India. Builds on luxury and performance-oriented vehicles are also taking off.

MG Windsor EV red on road

Headed by MG Motor India, the second quarter of the year 2025 performances showed a promising statistic that had recorded an unprecedented 28 percent in quarter-to-quarter rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales.

The electric models, with the Windsor EV performing best among the Indian respondents, have substantially increased the market share of MG in the Indian EV market, from 28 percent in Q1 to 32 percent in Q2.

Q2 Sales Snapshot: Windsor EV Takes the Center Stage

Overall, MG Motor has managed to sell 14,837 EVs in Q2, which is an increase compared to 11,505 in Q1 sales. Among them, the Windsor EV by itself supplied 11,415 units, which is a 17 percent QoQ increase since the 9,693 units in Q1. The Windsor EV had an average monthly sales of 3,805 in Q2 as against 3,231 in Q1.

The general retail sales total of MG during Q2 equaled 10,889 units, having increased by a strong 20 percent compared to the previous quarterly figure (9,058 units).

Windsor EV: The Engine of MG EV Revolution

Windsor EV was introduced in October 2024 and has quickly become a household name in India among electric cars. With the support of competitive pricing, a new ownership strategy as Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), and an upscale list of features, the Windsor EV is the best-selling model in MG.

The new Windsor EV Pro model that was introduced in May 2025 is also experiencing a strong demand with a flurry of more than 8,000 bookings within a day of its initiation.

It has a bigger battery, 52.9 kWh, and longer range, 449 km, with Opulence features, such as ADAS Correspondence 2, Infinity 9-speaker sound system, V2L and V2V technology.

The generic prices will be 13.99 lakh for the entry-level Variant Excite, and BaaS will be 9.99 lakhs, with Google not charging anything as compared to the basic batteries, but merely charging for the usage of the Battery.

Gazing Below the Premium Segment: M9 and Cyberster

MG Motor cannot be content with mass-market EVs. It's recently unveiled M9 Presidential Limo can travel 548 km and has a price sticker of 69.9 lakh, whereas the upcoming Cyberster electric roadster will provide high performance as the vehicle has a 510 PS output range, 725Nm of torque and can reach a speed of 0-100 km/h in less than 3.2 seconds. Cyberster demonstrators are available to pre-order.

Conclusion

As Windsor EV rides on the volumes and the M9 and Cyberster are aimed at the luxury and performance customers, MG Motor is set to become India's most vibrant EV brand. Its aggressive growth as well as the addition and change of models signify the clear understanding of the consumer demands in a changing market.
