Maruti Midsize SUV Launching on Sept 3 with ADAS

Maruti Suzuki will roll out its new midsize SUV on September 3, 2025, and is planning to place the product under the dealership Arena. This SUV will be cheaper than the Grand Vitara, offer more than two choices of power, such as hybrid and CNG, and have most of the features, such as whole-house Navigation, ADAS, panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate, thus a competitive model within its segment.

Maruti Midsize SUV Launching on Sept 3 with ADAS

On September 3, 2025, Maruti Suzuki will be ready to unveil a completely new mid-sized SUV in India. Many are already calling the car the Maruti Escudo, but the full name will be announced soon.

What is established, however, is that this SUV lies in the marketing of becoming the new top of the brand under the Arena dealerships. This pitches it directly against the leaders within a segment, including the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Three Powertrains, Including CNG and Hybrid

The new SUV will offer three powertrain options:

  • A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103bhp

  • A 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol generating 116bhp

  • A CNG variant delivering 88bhp

Every version will pair up with standard front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) is limited to petrol-automatic variants only. This is similar to the powertrain offered in the Maruti Grand Vitara, pointing to a similar structure.

This SUV marks the first segment-first initiative of Maruti, wherein it will have an underbody-mounted CNG tank. It is a good relief compared to the typical CNG design, which tends to sacrifice boot space. The innovation makes available a greater usable luggage space with no sacrifice of the utility of a factory-fitted CNG system.

ADAS in Feature-Packed Cabin

The new SUV might also be the first vehicle of Maruti in India to have Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Although the complete specifications will be known near launch, it is reported to contain high-end features, which will include:

  • Dolby Atmos sound system

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Powered tailgate

  • Ventilated front seats

These features are aimed at offering a premium driving experience.

Cheaper Than Grand Vitara?

Interestingly, the company will sell this SUV at Maruti Arena stores not at the premium Nexa stores. This may come with a lower price tag though it may have more features than the Grand Vitara. This pricing model may provide it with a competitive advantage over others in the fast-changing market of midsize SUVs.

Further specifications, such as the official name and variant-wise specifications are bound to trickle out in the next few weeks. Powertrain options are good, there is good practicality and the SUV presents a competitive tech package that makes it potentially a game-changer at this price segment. Keep an eye out to witness its complete revealing on September 3, 2025.
