Mahindra’s Vision SXT pickup concept unveiled in India..webp

Recently, on the occasion of 79th Independence Day, at the ongoing Freedom_NU event in Mumbai, Mahindra and Mahindra unveiled its new Vision SXT. The Vision SXT is a futuristic pickup truck concept that previews what can go into production.

What is Vision SXT, and its design?

The Vision SXT is a pickup-style SUV/truck that takes things further. It is inspired by the Thar E, and has a muscular, boxy shape and look. The vehicle will come with a flatbed, dual-spare wheels mounted at the back, and a tough, utility-first design.

Some of the key elements of the design that the SXT has are listed below:

  • Pixel-like projector headlamps with DRLs and indicators.

  • A chunky off-road bumper with a silver skid plate.

  • Sharp creases and angular body cladding.

  • C-pillar-mounted rear handles.

  • Chunky off-road tyres on the side.

  • Vertical tail lamps.

Promising Features and more

Talking about the features of the Mahindra Vision SXT, it has a minimalist yet tech-forward design, and it comes with some amazing and promising features.

Some of them are listed below:

  • Dual digital screens

  • Voice assistant

  • Connected car features

  • Level 2 ADAS

  • 360-degree camera

  • Blind spot monitoring

  • Multiple airbags

Production, Powertrain and Specs

The Vision SXT is expected to get its production started in coming years and the prices are expected to range between ₹30 lakh to ₹40 lakh for entry-level variants.

However, if we talk about its powertrain, it is still not confirmed if the production-spec version of the Vision SXT prototype for India will be offered with an ICE or EV powertrain.

Two variants are expected to be offered, such as:

  • Single-motor RWD with 230-250bhp

  • Dual-motor AWD with 300-350bhp

It is most likely to offer a battery pack of 400-500km of range with fast charging capabilities. Also, as it is Mahindra's NU_IQ platform, various powertrains, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and fully electric, can be expected too.

As a result of all this, it is aimed to target a wide audience, including adventure seekers, urban buyers, and businesses looking for eco-friendly transport solutions.

In Summary

Mahindra will begin production of its Vision SXT in the coming years. It is a concept by Mahindra, previewed at the FreedomNU event and is a pickup-style SUV rooted in rugged practicality and modern design. Built on the adjustable NUIQ platform, it features advanced tech, flexible powertrains, and strong safety essentials. The Vision SXT could also become India’s first electric pickup, targeting priced segments between ₹30 lakh and ₹40 lakh.
