Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Production to Begin on August 26 at Hansalpur Plant.

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, will begin production at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat on August 26, 2025, ahead of its launch on 3 September. This also marks it as the first part of Suzuki’s global EV lineup.

The e-Vitara, a highly anticipated electric SUV by Maruti Suzuki, is set to make its debut in the Indian market on September 3rd. Ahead of the official launch event, Maruti Suzuki has recently announced that the commencement of production of the first batch will happen on 26th August, at the brand’s Hansalpur Facility in Gujarat.

Not just this, it is the first in the electric SUV segment by the brand, which makes the vehicle carry a distinction, and the hype is all there amongst automobile enthusiasts. Also, the start of production will pave the way for customer deliveries and further strengthen Maruti’s EV portfolio in India.

Battery Packs, Design, Features, And More

The new electric SUV will be available in two battery pack options in India: a 49 kWh and a 61.1 kWh, both expected to and claims to deliver a range of up to 500km with a single charge.

Talking about the designs of the SUV, it has some key elements as listed below:

On the front:-

  • Three-point matrix LED daytime lights, which will also be built into the headlights.

  • The piano black accents are present at the centre of the headlight.

  • Nexa branding on the rear windshield and LED taillights.

  • 18-inch alloy wheels and robust C pillars, too.

On the inside:-

  • Dual-tone colour scheme with brown and black shades.

  • Two-spoke steering wheel.

  • 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

  • Leatherette seats with a fixed glass roof.

Now, coming to the vehicle’s amazing and modern features, it includes:

  • 7 airbags, with a level-2 ADAS.

  • Ventilated front seats and a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat.

  • Rear seats that can slide and recline.

  • A 360-degree camera with a wireless charging pad.

  • Ambient lighting, keyless entry, and a ride-by-wire system.

Variants, Colour Options and Rivals

The much-anticipated electric SUV will be offered in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Not just this, the e-Vitara also comes in 10 colour options, as listed below:

Single tones:-

  • Opulent Red

  • Bluish Black

  • Arctic White

  • Grandeur Grey

  • Splendid Silver

  • Nexa Blue

Dual-tones:-

The following dual-tone colours are paired with a Bluish Black roof, and they are:

  • Land Breeze Green

  • Splendid Silver

  • Opulent Red

  • Arctic White

Furthermore, the brand’s new SUV will be competing with rivals like Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and others, making it worth the hype.
