For lovers of SUVs, Mahindra has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that since November 2023, the order backlog for their SUVs has significantly decreased—by 21%. The bad news is that several well-liked models, such as the Thar, still have lengthy waiting lists. Mahindra has succeeded in dramatically lowering the order backlog. As of February 1, 2024, the automaker had 2.26 lakh open orders for its SUVs, down from over 2.86 lakh at the end of October of the previous year. Mahindra has increased output to fulfill the outstanding orders. Because the automaker is now producing about 49,000 units per month, the wait times for certain models have gotten shorter.
