Mahindra Thar Xuv700 Scorpio Xuv300 And Bolero 2 Lakhs 26 Thousands Units Remain In Backorder Book Now

Mahindra Thar, XUV700, Scorpio, XUV300, and Bolero: 2.26 lakh units remain in backorder.

For lovers of SUVs, Mahindra has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that since November 2023, the order backlog for their SUVs has significantly decreased—by 21%. The bad news is that several well-liked models, such as the Thar, still have lengthy waiting lists. Mahindra has succeeded in dramatically lowering the order backlog. As of February 1, 2024, the automaker had 2.26 lakh open orders for its SUVs, down from over 2.86 lakh at the end of October of the previous year. Mahindra has increased output to fulfill the outstanding orders. Because the automaker is now producing about 49,000 units per month, the wait times for certain models have gotten shorter.

For the XUV700, the backlog of open orders has dropped from 70,000 to just 35,000, a 50% reduction. According to the company, the typical waiting time for an SUV has decreased to two to three months. Every month, it gets about 7,000 new reservations for the XUV700. More than 75% of the backlog of orders is made up of Scorpio and Thar. Over 1.01 lakh orders are still pending for the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic; the Scorpio N has an approximate 8–9 month wait time. There are still about 71,000 Thars to be delivered. With the Thar RWD commanding a one-year waiting period, the model also has the longest waiting period.

Mahindra has 8,000 open reservations for the XUV300 and XUV400 and over 10,000 pending orders for the Bolero. Booking cancellations rose to about 10% between November 2023 and January 2024, the company reports. In January 2024, there were fewer than 8% of cancellations.

Regarding Mahindra SUVs, what's next?

Mahindra is becoming more proficient at SUVs. They are making an effort to close the gap between supply and demand with more deliveries, steady bookings, and well-thought-out production schedules. Their dedication to maintaining their product offerings is further demonstrated by the recent update to the XUV400 and the impending XUV300 facelift. Therefore, depending on the model, be ready for a wait if you're eyeing a Mahindra SUV. But hey, your ideal SUV might be closer than you think, as they're concentrating on reducing the backlog and increasing production!
