Mahindra Auto, commencing the year with impetus, fared excellently in April 2025 with soaring sales figures. In the last month, the company sold 52,330 passenger vehicles, all of which were SUVs; a clear testimony to Mahindra's prowess in that segment. That growth stake, however, is solid at 27.61% Y-o-Y from April 2024; this was when the brand sold 41,008 units.
Besides, Morbidity is also gaining in MM with a hulking 8.91% growth over the month, where 48,048 takers were sold in the month of March 2025.
Thus, the SUV focus in the PV space certainly gives Mahindra some due advantage in the booming market for rugged, loaded features, and stylish utility vehicles in India.
Global Push-Exports Soar 82% Y-o-Y
If this is impressive, the export performance of Mahindra would easily intimidate one into the realm. The company exported 3,381 vehicles in April 2025 and registered an intimidating YoY growth of 82% when compared to the 1,857 units exported in April 2024. That is to say, 1,524 units were added toward volume, which also strengthens Mahindra's international presence.
This has, of course, been heavily driven by the distinctive performance-meets-practical appeal of Mahindra's SUV range that is gaining notoriety in various global markets.
Commercial Vehicle Segment- Mixed Performance
While passenger vehicles and exports thrived, Mahindra's commercial vehicle (CV) division was mixed. The best-selling segment comprises sales of 19,141 from the LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) 2T-3.5T category, which saw a 9% increase YoY.
Likewise, LCV greater than 3.5T and MHCV (Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles) registered YoY growth of 1,196 units and 10%, respectively.
Yet, not all the CV segments were experiencing a booming effect, as the LCV <2T contracted by 21% from 3,372 this April 2024 to 2,652 units in April 2025. In addition, Mahindra's 3-wheeler sales also took a 1% hit with 5,470 units reported.
Conclusion
Thus, the sales performance in April 2025 by Mahindra stands testimony to its current supremacy in the SUV space and the brand's growing overseas presence. Some segments of commercial vehicles may have seen a dip, but overall growth in significant verticals indicates a good opening for FY26 for the automaker.
