A comprehensive list of models, production numbers, and the type of software error.
What owners need to know: how the recall works, next steps, and safety implications.
What's happening
A voluntary recall of 1,588 cars from five different models, LM, LX, LS, NX, and RX, has been started by Lexus India. A software flaw in the "Parking Assist ECU," a component of the car's panoramic vision monitor (PVM) system, is the focus of the recall. When the car is reversing, this device shows the rearview image on the screen.
The problem is that the rear-view image may either freeze or not display at all under certain circumstances, such as choosing reverse soon after the ignition is turned on or quickly turning the ignition off and back on.
Models and production periods impacted
This table summarizes the models, production windows, and numbers that are impacted:
| Model | Production duration | Affected Units |
|---|---|---|
| LM | April 2024 – August 2025 | 258 |
| LX | August 2022 – July 2025 | 136 |
| LS | November 2022 – August 2023 | 6 |
| NX | November 2021 – February 2025 | 443 |
| RX | May 2022 – June 2025 | 745 |
What Lexus is doing & what owners ought to do
Owners are not charged for the recall. Through its Relationship Managers, Lexus India will get in touch with the impacted car owners directly.
To have the Parking Assist ECU's software reprogrammed, owners must visit authorized Lexus service centers. The recall is a proactive measure to ensure safety and dependability, even though no incidents or customer complaints have been documented in India to date.
Connection to the parent company's wider recall
For the same parking-assist 360-degree camera problem, Toyota, the parent company of Lexus, has also issued a broader recall for more than 1588 Lexus model cars in India.
