Kia is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup in India with the upcoming Syros EV, and new leaked information has revealed several important details ahead of its official launch.
According to the leaked details, the electric SUV is expected to focus on practicality, long driving range and lower ownership costs by offering multiple battery options and a lifetime battery warranty.
The Syros EV is expected to compete in India's rapidly growing compact electric SUV segment, where manufacturers are increasingly offering longer ranges, better technology and flexible ownership benefits.
Kia Syros EV Battery, Range and Performance
According to leaked details, the upcoming Kia Syros EV is expected to share its battery technology with the Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Kia Carens EV. The compact electric SUV is likely to be offered with the same battery pack options but is expected to deliver better efficiency due to its smaller size and lighter weight.
The Syros EV is expected to be available with two battery options:
42 kWh Battery Pack: Expected to offer a claimed driving range of up to 443 km on a full charge.
51.4 kWh Battery Pack: Expected to deliver a claimed driving range of up to 520 km, making it the longest-range variant in the lineup.
The Kia Syros Lifetime Battery Warranty could be a major highlight.
One of the biggest highlights of the leaked details is Kia's plan to reduce long-term EV ownership concerns. The company is reportedly considering a lifetime battery warranty, or coverage of up to 15 years. This could help address worries about battery degradation and expensive replacement costs.
In addition to the battery warranty, the Syros EV is also expected to offer a strong ownership package, including:
3-year standard vehicle warranty, extendable up to 7 years or 1.6 lakh km
A buyback assurance programme through Kia dealerships to support better resale value for early buyers
Features and Launch Roadmap
While interior design renderings remain under wraps, the Syros EV is confirmed to pull flagship features downward into the compact segment. Expect a twin-screen digital cockpit architecture, standard connected car suites, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), ventilated front-row seats and a panoramic sunroof.
With Kia India recently dropping official teasers for its upcoming hybrid and fully electric models, production schedules indicate that the official market launch of the Syros EV is imminent, expanding the brand's alternative-fuel offensive significantly.
