Kia Clavis EV 6-Seater with Captain Seats Confirmed for India Launch

Kia is set to launch a new 6-seater version of the Clavis EV, offering captain seats in the second row to improve passenger comfort and flexibility for families. Built on the fully loaded HTX+ ER trim, this variant is designed to offer a more relaxed ride for customers who value both space and premium features.

Kia has officially confirmed that a 6-seater variant of the Carens Clavis EV is on the way. This new Kia Caren Clavis EV variant will feature captain seats in the second row, providing a more premium and comfortable experience for middle-row passengers while traveling.

Expected to launch soon, this 6-seater variant is a follow-up to the 7-seater Kia Caren Clavis EV, which was launched in July 2025.

The new 6-seater Caren Clavis EV is made for families who prefer comfort and personal space in the second row while keeping the existing value of the 7-seater variant.

No Mechanical or Feature Compromises

Kia has maintained the same specifications in both models, with the only difference between the 6 and 7 seater variants being the second-row seat configuration.

Now, captain seats will offer sliding, reclining, and tumble functions, unlike the bench setup in the 7-seater. Other features like ADAS Level 2, panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, V2L, and ventilated seats will stay the same.

Why prefer the 6-seater over the 7-seater model?

  • Captain Seats in the Second Row: You get two well-cushioned seats instead of a bench in the middle, which provides more space and comfort.

  • Premium Experience: The 6-seater comes entirely with captain seats, giving the car a more luxurious feel.

  • Same Features, Less Crowded: You get 6-well cushioned seats, which not only increase individual experience but also make more room for each.

Expected Price Positioning

The new 6-seater version of the Kia Clavis EV is based on the fully-loaded HTX+ ER variant, which is currently priced at ₹25.89 lakh (approx. ex-showroom).

While Kia hasn’t revealed the official price yet, it’s expected to cost a little more than the 7-seater version, and an official announcement should follow once the launch timeline is finalised.

What is HTX+ ER?

  • In Kia’s variant naming, HTX+ refers to a higher-end trim that comes with premium features like a sunroof, advanced safety tech, and a larger touchscreen.

  • The ER stands for Extended Range, meaning this version has a bigger battery pack that can go up to 490 km on a full charge.

So, HTX+ ER is the top variant of the Carens EV, offering both luxury and long-distance driving.

Final Take

With the new 6-seater variant of the Clavis EV, Kia is entering the growing demand for flexible seating layouts in electric family vehicles. The Clavis already has strong features and everyday comfort, and the addition of captain seats simply offers more room and a more relaxed second-row experience for the passengers. It’s a small change, but one that adds meaningful choice for buyers looking for space without compromising on tech or practicality, and it simply gives customers one more practical option to choose from.
