Hyundai Motor India Foundation Launches 4th Season Of Art For Hope

Hyundai Motor India Foundation Launches 4th Season of 'Art for Hope'

Hyundai India has never been limited to just selling cars rather it has been dedicated to bringing major changes in Indian society with its impeccable initiatives focusing on underprivileged people. The charitable wing of Hyundai Motor India Limited, Hyundai Motor India Foundation has launched its fourth season of their flagship art initiative, Art for Hope.

The program is designed to represent underprivileged and emerging artists by providing them with financial support and a platform to showcase their talent and work on a national level. This season, Hyundai aims to mentor 50 individual artists and art collectives, offering a total grant of INR 60 Lakhs.

Supporting Under-Represented Artists

The Art for Hope initiative has been instrumental in nurturing and supporting artists who often lack exposure and resources. The project has extended financial support and mentorship to a wide range of artists, including painters, sculptors, digital artists, musicians, and performers. It also emphasizes inclusivity, extending its reach to artists with disabilities to ensure everyone has a voice in the Indian art scene.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Puneet Anand, Vertical Head of Corporate Communication at Hyundai Motor India, emphasized the importance of art in inspiring change. "Art has the power to inspire transformation. Through the Art for Hope initiative, we aim to create a sustainable ecosystem for artists to thrive," he said. "India is home to a rich tapestry of art and culture, and this initiative serves as a platform for artists to share their unique expressions and stories."

A History of Uplifting Artists

Over the past three seasons, Art for Hope has supported over 100 artists and art collectives, granting a total of INR 1.05 crores. The program not only provides financial backing but also offers mentorship to help these artists refine their craft and grow their skills. Hyundai's initiative fosters an environment where creativity can thrive, encouraging artists to explore and present their art in ways that reflect India's diverse culture.

In addition to financial support, the program offers mentorship to help artists hone their skills and reach a wider audience. By offering a national platform, Hyundai ensures that under-represented and emerging artists are able to showcase their talents, which might otherwise go unnoticed.

Art for Hope - Season 4 Details

In this new season, the Art for Hope initiative will once again offer grants and mentorship to emerging artists. The last date for applications is October 18, 2024, and the project implementation period will run from November to December 2024. The grand showcase of the selected projects will take place in early 2025.

There are two types of grants available for this season: 40 individual grants of INR 1 lakh each for artists, including people with disabilities, and 10 institutional grants of INR 2 lakhs each for art collectives or institutions.

The initiative supports various forms of art, including:

  • Visual Art: Traditional forms like drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

  • Digital Art: Photography, filmmaking, multimedia, and other arts created using digital technology.

  • Performing Art: Music, dance, and other performance-based art forms.

  • Traditional Art & Culture: Folk art and crafts, as well as projects that empower artisans and performers from rural and marginalized communities.

  • Functional and Innovative Art: Projects that focus on eco-friendly and sustainable art practices.

This broad range of categories ensures that artists from all fields have the opportunity to apply and receive the support they need to bring their creative visions to life.

A Platform for Social Change

One of the unique aspects of Art for Hope is its ability to foster social dialogue through art. Many of the projects supported by the initiative address important social issues like climate change, human rights, and community resilience. By highlighting these critical issues through art, the initiative helps raise awareness and encourage conversations around them.

Moreover, by including artists with disabilities, the initiative ensures that the art world remains inclusive and accessible to everyone. It challenges societal norms and encourages people to view the world from different perspectives, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding through artistic expression.

Encouraging Applications from All

Hyundai encourages artists from all walks of life to apply for Art for Hope Season 4. Whether you're an emerging artist, an established performer, or part of a rural art collective, this initiative is open to you. Hyundai is particularly focused on helping artists from under-represented communities, including women, youth, and rural creators.

This season offers a unique opportunity for artists to not only receive financial support but also benefit from industry mentorship. Selected artists will have the chance to showcase their work on a national platform, potentially catapulting their careers to new heights.

The Art for Hope initiative has proven to be more than just a platform for showcasing art; it is a movement for change. By giving a voice to under-represented and emerging artists, Hyundai is helping to reshape the Indian art scene and create a more inclusive and diverse community. Season 4 promises to continue this legacy, supporting even more artists as they share their unique perspectives with the world.

The application process is simple, and the rewards are invaluable. For those looking to make a mark in the art world, Art for Hope could be the perfect opportunity to turn your vision into reality.
