Hyundai i20 Automatic Now ₹58,000 Cheaper in India

Hyundai has cut prices of select automatic variants of the i20 hatchback by up to ₹58,000, offering better value to buyers looking for a premium urban runabout.

Hyundai Motor India has officially reduced the prices of its popular i20 hatchback’s automatic variants, making them significantly more attractive to buyers. The price cut applies to the Sportz CVT and Asta CVT variants, with the Sportz trim seeing the biggest reduction—₹58,000 off its earlier sticker price.

With this move, Hyundai aims to strengthen the i20’s position in the premium hatchback segment, particularly among urban buyers seeking convenience without compromising on style or features. This revised pricing brings the i20’s automatic variants closer to entry-level compact sedans and rivals like the Maruti Baleno CVT and Tata Altroz DCA.

Updated Pricing (Ex-showroom, Delhi)

  • i20 Sportz 1.2L CVT: Now ₹8.73 lakh (reduced from ₹9.31 lakh)

  • i20 Asta 1.2L CVT: Now ₹9.38 lakh (reduced from ₹9.68 lakh)

Notably, this is not an introductory offer, but an official revision, indicating Hyundai’s commitment to offering better value in a competitive market.

No Mechanical Changes

Despite the price revision, there are no changes to the mechanical setup. Both variants continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 88 hp and 115 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for smooth and efficient city driving.

Features and Positioning

The i20 Sportz CVT comes with a decent feature set, including:

  • 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • Reverse camera

  • Steering-mounted controls

  • Automatic climate control

On the other side, the Asta CVT builds on this with

  • Electric sunroof

  • Cruise control

  • Push-button start/stop

  • Wireless charger

  • Additional connected car features

Both variants offer dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and more as standard, maintaining the i20’s premium positioning in its segment.

Conclusion

Hyundai’s strategic price cut for the i20 automatic trims brings added value to one of India’s best-equipped premium hatchbacks. With up to ₹58,000 in savings, the i20 CVT is now more accessible to buyers looking for a stylish, feature-rich automatic hatchback. This move could help Hyundai further cement the i20’s popularity among urban buyers seeking a hassle-free, refined driving experience.
