Hyundai is all set to electrify the Indian mid-size SUV market with the much-anticipated launch of the Hyundai Creta EV. The new electric avatar of the popular Creta SUV will make its grand debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January.

Known for its dominance in the internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV segment, Hyundai aims to replicate this success in the EV market with the Creta EV.

Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, revealed this exciting news at a recent investor event, hinting at Hyundai's big plans for the electric vehicle (EV) segment. With competition heating up in the EV space, the Creta EV is Hyundai’s ticket to staying ahead of the curve.

Stylish Tweaks and EV-Specific Design

The Hyundai Creta EV retains much of its classic charm while incorporating thoughtful updates tailored for an electric SUV. Recent spy shots of the Creta EV test mule suggest subtle yet effective design changes.

The EV model will feature a closed front grille, a hallmark of electric cars, and aerodynamic alloy wheels to boost efficiency. At the back, a mildly redesigned rear bumper will flaunt the distinctive Creta EV badge, setting it apart from its ICE counterpart. While the changes are not revolutionary, they align with Hyundai’s strategy of blending familiarity with innovation.

A Modern, Feature-Rich Cabin

Step inside the Creta EV, and you’ll find a cabin inspired by Hyundai's premium Alcazar. The interiors strike a balance between sophistication and practicality, promising a comfortable driving experience.

A brand-new three-spoke steering wheel and a modern drive selector headline the updates. The center console offers convenient features, including twin cupholders, buttons for electronic parking brakes with auto hold, and controls for ventilated seats. Drivers can also enjoy a 360-degree camera view for added safety.

  • Twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver information.

  • Wireless phone charging for convenience.

  • Automatic climate control, ensuring optimum cabin comfort.

  • Tata Curvv EV: The expected entry-level range matches the Creta EV.

  • MG ZS EV: Features a slightly larger 50.3 kWh battery pack.
