Citroen C5 Aircross Feel Variant Discontinued New Shine Variant Takes Over

Citroën C5 Aircross Feel Variant Discontinued: New Shine Variant Takes Over

Citroën India has revamped its C5 Aircross lineup, saying goodbye to the entry-level Feel variant. This move streamlines the SUV's offerings, leaving the more premium Shine variant as the sole option for buyers.

Let’s take a closer look at what this means for enthusiasts and prospective owners.

A Clear Focus on Premium Appeal

The discontinuation of the Feel variant, previously priced at ₹36.91 lakh (ex-showroom), marks a strategic shift by Citroën. The company is now directing attention to the high-end Shine trim, priced at ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While the price difference might seem significant, the added features and technology in the Shine variant justify the premium.

The Shine variant boasts a host of upgrades, including a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electric tailgate, and a wireless smartphone charger. It also includes advanced grip control modes, hill descent control, and plush leatherette upholstery, making it an attractive package for those seeking both comfort and sophistication.

Powerful Performance with a Trusted Diesel Engine

Under the hood, the C5 Aircross continues to rely on its powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine. This robust setup generates an impressive 174bhp and a torque of 400Nm, ensuring a smooth yet thrilling driving experience. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the front-wheel-drive configuration provides seamless handling and responsive acceleration.

For those who love road trips or long drives, the SUV delivers performance and reliability that stand out in its segment.

Safety That Matches Style

Citroën hasn’t compromised on safety. The C5 Aircross Shine variant is packed with advanced safety features, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike. With six airbags, driver drowsiness detection, electronic stability program (ESP), and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), the SUV keeps safety at the forefront.

Additional features like hill assist, park assist, a rear parking camera, and blind-spot detection make navigating even tricky terrains or tight spaces an effortless task.

A Spacious and Stylish Interior

The C5 Aircross continues to impress with its spacious five-seat cabin. It offers 580 litres of boot space, ideal for family getaways or shopping sprees. For those times when you need extra room, the rear seats can be folded down to expand the boot space to a whopping 1,630 litres.

The interior design blends luxury and practicality, with high-quality materials and thoughtful ergonomics enhancing comfort. The leatherette upholstery adds a premium touch, while the cabin layout ensures easy access to controls and plenty of legroom for all passengers.

Eye-Catching Exterior Colours

The Shine variant is available in a range of attractive monotone colours, including Pearl White, Pearl Nera Black, Eclipse Blue, and Cumulus Grey. Additionally, customers can choose from three dual-tone options, which pair the standard body colours with a contrasting black roof. These combinations give the SUV a modern and stylish edge that’s bound to turn heads on the road.

What This Means for Buyers

The decision to discontinue the Feel variant narrows the choices but provides a more focused offering with better value for those looking for a feature-rich, premium SUV. While the Shine variant comes at a higher price point, its enhanced technology, safety, and comfort features make it a compelling option.

The streamlined lineup reflects Citroën’s intent to position the C5 Aircross as a luxury SUV that appeals to discerning buyers. It’s ideal for those who prioritize comfort, safety, and a touch of sophistication in their vehicle.

In the end, Citroën India’s decision to phase out the Feel variant may initially surprise some, but it highlights a clear focus on delivering a more premium ownership experience with the Shine trim. With its upgraded features, powerful diesel engine, and advanced safety systems, the C5 Aircross remains a solid choice in the SUV segment.

Whether you're a city dweller seeking comfort and style or an adventure enthusiast planning road trips, the C5 Aircross Shine variant offers a balanced mix of performance, luxury, and practicality. It’s not just an SUV—it’s a statement on wheels, designed for those who value both substance and style.
