Hyundai Creta CVT vs Honda Elevate CVT: Performance Comparison

The Hyundai Creta has been a favorite in the compact SUV segment for many years, and now it faces competition from the new Honda Elevate, a petrol-only offering. Both SUVs feature a naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic. We compared the performance of these two SUVs in real-world tests to see which one comes out on top.

Both SUVs are equipped with 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engines. The Honda Elevate boasts a slightly more powerful engine. Both vehicles offer a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT paired with their naturally aspirated engines.

In the 0-100 kmph acceleration test, the Honda Elevate is quicker by 1.01 seconds compared to the Creta. Similarly, in the quarter mile test, the Elevate leads by 0.6 seconds. The kick-down test from 20 to 80 kmph shows almost no difference between the two.

In the braking test from 100 kmph to 0 kmph, the Honda Elevate stops slightly quicker, taking 37.98 meters compared to the Creta's 38.12 meters. From 80 kmph to 0, the Elevate also stops at a shorter distance by 0.2 meters. Both SUVs have 17-inch wheels, but the Creta has all-disc brakes, whereas the Elevate has disc brakes only at the front.

Additionally, the Elevate offers a more competitive price point, making it a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. However, the choice between these two may also depend on other factors like features, brand preference, and overall driving experience.
