Honda and Jeep Slash Car Prices After GST Cut

With the government’s revised GST rates coming into effect from September 22, 2025, automakers are swiftly passing the benefits to customers. Honda Cars India has announced reductions across popular models such as the Amaze, City, and Elevate, while Jeep India has slashed prices across its entire SUV portfolio, including Compass, Meridian, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee.

Honda Cars India has asserted that, beginning September 22, customers will be offered reduced ex-showroom prices on its entire range. The firm has implemented a price reduction of between 57,500 and 95,500 according to the model and the variant.

  • Honda Amaze, which is a compact sedan brand, undergoes the maximum decrease of up to 95,500, and it will be more attractive to the entry-level sedan buyers.

  • The widely known Honda City will be priced lower by as much as Rs 57,500, which will assist it in maintaining a competitive advantage in the midsize sedan market.

  • The new SUV Honda Elevate is also able to enjoy the GST cut with price drops of up to Rs 58,400.

This action will increase the volumes of Honda during the festive season and will draw more budget-conscious buyers who want instant savings.

Jeep India Slashes Prices by Up to Rs 4.8 Lakh

In a separate announcement, Jeep India confirmed significant reductions across its SUV lineup. The new GST rate structure has allowed the brand to cut prices by as much as up to Rs 4.8 lakh, depending on the model and variant.

  • The base Jeep Compass is now more affordable, and this provides the target audience with an easier point of entry into the luxury SUV market.

  • Jeep Meridian also gets a large cut that enhances its value offering in the automobile market.

  • Wrangler- the iconic and Grand Cherokee- flagship experience the largest declines, and the benefits amount to almost Rs 4.8 lakh.

Such reductions will apply to all Jeep dealerships in the country beginning September 22, and this will be in tandem with the GST changes.

Impact on Buyers

These two announcements by Honda and Jeep bring to the fore the manner in which the GST rationalisation is redefining the Indian car market. To the buyers, this would translate to instant savings and improved affordability of major sedans and SUVs. As their festive demand is already starting to improve, such price reductions will hasten the showrooms to increase the sales momentum of the two brands.
