Google Gemini AI Will Launch the New Volvo EX60 This Month

With the new EX60, which is expected to be unveiled later this month, Volvo is getting ready to take yet another significant step in its electric adventure. The EX60, marketed as a high-end mid-size electric SUV, will be the first Volvo to use Google's cutting-edge Gemini AI technology. The EX60 demonstrates Volvo's increasing emphasis on intelligent, connected, and future-ready mobility in addition to its revolutionary software-defined architecture, extended electric driving range, and quick charging capacity.

  • Google's Gemini AI assistant, which offers intelligent interactions and natural voice control.

  • Long range and quick charging are features of Volvo's new software-defined architecture.

On January 21, 2026, Volvo Cars is scheduled to introduce the EX60, an all-electric mid-size SUV that will be a major step in the Swedish company's shift to completely electrified, software-driven automobiles.

As the first Volvo to integrate Google's Gemini AI assistant into its infotainment system, this model stands out for offering drivers a more conversational and intuitive in-car experience.

What's Unique About the EX60

Groundbreaking Integration of AI

Google's Gemini AI, which is intricately integrated into the car's new HuginCore software platform, is the core of the EX60. Drivers may conduct things like locating a hotel address from emails, changing the climate, and navigating without lifting a finger by speaking normally to the car instead of using pre-programmed voice instructions.

The goal of the system is to minimize distraction and facilitate seamless mobile digital contact.

Software-Specified Design

The capabilities of the EX60 are based on Volvo's new HuginCore architecture. It enables constant over-the-air updates by combining zone controllers, central processing hardware, and electrical layout. This implies that the entertainment, safety, and driving support systems of the automobile can change over time, keeping it current long after it is purchased.

Practicality and Performance

Extended Range and Quick Charging

The EX60 offers useful electric performance in addition to technology. The all-wheel-drive model outperforms numerous competitors with a range of up to 810 km on a single charge, according to WLTP testing.

Long excursions and hectic lifestyles are made possible by the rapid charging capabilities, which enable up to 400 kW input and, under ideal circumstances, could provide nearly 340 km of range in about 10 minutes.

Market Scope and Global Launch

The SUV, which is anticipated to be a key component of Volvo's next electrified lineup, will be unveiled during a livestreamed event from Stockholm. The EX60 will compete with other high-end electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX3 when production starts in 2026 with cars manufactured in Sweden. The worldwide debut is a thrilling moment for EV lovers, even though precise regional pricing and availability details are still pending.

Volvo is focusing on innovation in everyday usability and safety in addition to performance as the reveal date approaches. The EX60 also foreshadows a time when automobiles would comprehend and help drivers in more profound and significant ways, thanks to AI that learns from data from Volvo's fleet.

Prior to its formal launch, more specifications, trim options, and market-specific details are probably going to be released in the upcoming weeks.
