From MG to Mercedes: 2024 plans big for SUVs and Crossovers

Car enthusiasts are excited to witness the new SUV models that are scheduled to appear in the second half of 2024, as India's vehicle market continues to grow. In order to satisfy the rising demand for high-end features and cutting-edge technology, this roundup concentrates on higher-end models, such as three-row SUVs and an electric SUV.

MG Gloster Facelift

The flagship SUV from MG Motor India, the MG Gloster, is about to get a facelift. There have been numerous reports of this new version during testing, suggesting that it will launch in the latter part of the year. A new exterior design and improved interior and exterior amenities will be part of the facelift.

The 2.0-liter diesel engine under the hood of the new Gloster will remain the same and come in turbo and twin-turbo configurations. An eight-speed automatic transmission will transfer power to the wheels, making for a powerful and smooth driving experience.

New Skoda Kodiaq

Reportedly, In the final quarter of 2024, Skoda plans to launch the second-generation Kodiaq in Indian market. Redesigned with a sloped D-pillar, new alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights, C-shaped LED tail lamps, and an LED light bar at the back, this revised model is a formidable rival to the Toyota Fortuner.

Inside, the three-row SUV has a dual-tone black and brown design that was influenced by the Superb of the latest generation. It has a fully digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch touchscreen located on the center console, and a two-spoke steering wheel. Advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), wireless charging, ambient lighting, climate control, and a reverse parking camera are among the extra amenities.

The Indian version of the Kodiaq is probably going to stick with its current powertrain, even though the global version has a plug-in hybrid option. Its dimensions need to be somewhat altered to improve its road presence and interior space.

Jeep Meridian Facelift

Jeep is getting ready to revamp the Meridian, a three-row SUV that is based on the Compass. Some changes are visible in spy photos, including a revised grille, ADAS suite, revamped headlights and DRLs, and new front and rear bumpers.

It is expected that the Meridian makeover will have a new 12.3-inch screen, rear window shades, and the newest touchscreen user interface, while specifics about the interior improvements are still unknown. The SUV will be mechanically identical to its predecessor.

Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes-Benz is expanding its range of electric vehicles (EVs) in India with the introduction of the EQA. This model will slot beneath the EQB, making it the smallest electric SUV in Mercedes' lineup. It is essentially an electric A-Class hatchback.

The EQA will include multi-spoke alloy wheels, dual-tone bumpers, LED taillight graphics, a blanked-off grille, and front and rear light bars. Dual 10.25-inch screens, the newest MBUX infotainment system, turbine-style AC vents, and automated climate management will all be featured inside.

The EQA may be purchased internationally with two different battery pack options: 66.5kWh and 70.5kWh, which have a maximum range of 560km (WLTP-certified). This makes it a viable choice for people seeking an opulent yet environmentally friendly yet luxurious driving experience.

In Summary, The second half of 2024 promises an exciting lineup of SUV launches in India. There is something for everyone, from the dependable and feature-rich Skoda Kodiaq and MG Gloster to the modernized Jeep Meridian and the environmentally friendly Mercedes-Benz EQA. These new models meet the growing demand for high-end SUVs in the Indian market in addition to providing opulent interiors and cutting-edge technologies. The future releases provide a wide range of options, including cutting-edge electric vehicles and family-friendly three-row SUVs.
