Citroen Basalt X Spied: Launch on September 05 with new features

Citroen is gearing up to launch the Basalt X in India on September 5, 2025. Spied undisguised ahead of its debut, the coupe SUV will feature cosmetic updates, premium touches, and added equipment, while retaining the same mechanicals. Pre-bookings are already underway for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

Citroen has been updating its India line with advanced cosmetic features and additions to enhance its product line to improve its position in the market.

After the recent C3X update, the company is prepared to release the Basalt X, which will be launched on September 5. The new variant has so far been spotted fully nude, and we have a closer view of the modifications.

Design Details Revealed

The spy photos affirm that the Basalt X still has the same coupe SUV shape of its older counterpart, but with an all-black colour scheme that gives it a stealthy, sporty look.

The most apparent is the new Basalt X badge, which is in a high position at the back. On the other hand, the exterior styling is very similar to the current model, with angular body lines and a coupe-ish posture.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

The exterior changes are very minor, but the interior is where Citroen has created value. The Basalt X will also have new seat upholstery, according to teasers, to give the cabin a new appearance. More importantly, the SUV has since been loaded with upscale features, including a wireless charger, automatic climate control, and cruise control, better suited to segment expectations.

Pre-Bookings and Launch Timeline

Citroen has already pre-booked the Basalt X at Rs 11,000, and it will be available to early customers who wish to reserve their position even before the actual price announcement. It will be launched on September 5, 2025, where the pricing and complete version specifications of the product will be revealed.

Powertrain is the same

The Basalt X would have the same engine and gears under the hood. It refers to the fact that, as the SUV receives cosmetic and feature upgrades, there will be no mechanical changes.
