BMW India has revised the pricing structure of its flagship electric sedan, the BMW i7 eDrive50, making it more appealing for high-end EV enthusiasts.
The company has now included GST, compensation cess, and registration charges within the car’s ex-showroom price of Rs 2.05 crore.
This updated pricing makes the luxury EV a more transparent purchase while trimming down some extra costs typically added later. However, charges like insurance, Tax Collected at Source (TCS), and other local levies are still not included.
A Pan-India Offer for the eDrive50 Variant
BMW confirmed that this offer is valid across all its authorised dealerships throughout India. The German automaker has also clarified that it will handle the registration process and expenses directly, making ownership hassle-free.
This offer is exclusive to the eDrive50 variant and does not extend to the more powerful i7 M70 xDrive, which is priced at Rs 2.5 crore.
Power and Range: What the i7 Offers
The i7 eDrive50 comes with a massive 101.7 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of 603km. It uses a single electric motor producing 449 hp, and supports multiple charging options:
11kW AC Charger: Full charge in around 10 hours and 45 minutes.
195kW DC Fast Charger: 10% to 80% charge in just 34 minutes.
BMW also offers the i7 M70 xDrive, delivering a jaw-dropping 650 hp and 1,015 Nm of torque with the same battery pack, though its range drops slightly to 560km.
Competing in the Luxury EV Arena
In the Indian market, the BMW i7 eDrive50 goes head-to-head with the Mercedes-Benz EQS, which is priced at Rs 1.63 crore. Meanwhile, the i7 M70 finds itself in a league of its own, having once faced competition from the now-scarce Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+.
Overall, BMW’s new pricing update makes the i7 eDrive50 a more convenient and slightly less daunting choice for luxury EV buyers in India. While not exactly budget-friendly, the thought of including GST and registration makes this premium electric sedan just a little more accessible—and a lot more enticing.
