Auto highlights of the Week: Renault Duster Returns, Scorpio N Facelift Spied, VW Tayron Unveiled

The long-awaited comeback of the Renault Duster in a completely new form is the main cause of this week's enthusiasm in the Indian car industry. Significant improvements have also been seen in Mahindra's Scorpio N makeover, suggesting that customers will have a more upscale experience. The class is now even more anticipated after Volkswagen unveiled its new flagship SUV. A very exciting week for auto aficionados is completed by industry advancements and regulatory changes in addition to these significant highlights.

  • After a four-year absence, Renault's famous Duster is back in India.

  • Spy images and new features give Mahindra's Scorpio N a new appearance.

Renault Duster Returns with Triumph

Renault has revealed the all-new edition of its legendary Duster SUV in India, marking a big return to the country’s compact SUV industry after a four-year hiatus. The new Duster sports a sleek, tough look and a wide choice of powertrain options, including turbo-petrol engines and a strong hybrid model.

Pre-bookings have begun with prices set to be published in mid-March, and delivery of turbo variants are expected by April, with the hybrid arriving later in the year. Built in Renault’s Chennai plant with strong localisation, the new Duster attempts to take on rivals in a congested SUV market.

Renault's increased emphasis on India is a component of a larger plan to increase its market share both domestically and internationally. With more competitive and feature-rich cars, the business hopes to attract the growing middle class in India, which it views as a major growth area.

The Mahindra Scorpio N Spotted

Mahindra’s famous Scorpio N SUV is poised for an update, with spy pictures indicating important modifications as the facelifted version undergoes testing.

The redesigned SUV is slated to arrive in early 2026 with exterior modifications like new alloy styles and an upgraded dashboard, coupled with expanded feature content inside.

Although mechanical improvements are doubtful, the new interior and feature list are intended to make the Scorpio N even more enticing to consumers.

India-EU Free Trade Agreement

India and the European Union have finalized a Free Trade Agreement that includes lower import taxes on automobiles and parts, which may help buyers of luxury cars.

High-end imported vehicles will probably benefit the most in the short term, but tariff reductions for parts and components will also have a positive effect on the Indian automotive sector as a whole.

Volkswagen Unveils Its Flagship Tayron R-Line

Volkswagen unveiled the Tayron R-Line, which is the brand's new premium seven-seater SUV in India. The Tayron, which was imported as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit, offers a robust performance and an impressive feature list that showcases European SUV character catered to Indian demands.

Other Highlights from the Week

The automobile industry also experienced other important news. BMW began taking reservations for the performance-focused X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro, highlighting rising interest in high-end SUV alternatives in India, while Skoda's best-selling Kylaq passed a production milestone, celebrating robust demand.
