5 Hyundai Creta Rivals Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Auto Expo 2025 brought a wave of excitement as automakers unveiled electric SUVs that are set to rival the Hyundai Creta EV. From Maruti’s e Vitara to Tata’s Sierra, here’s what’s in store for 2025.

Hyundai Creta EV Steals the Show, Rivals Take the Stage

Hyundai showcased its latest electric offering, the Creta EV, at the 2025 Auto Expo. Priced at ₹19 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), this SUV boasts a range of 430 km, making it a strong contender in the burgeoning electric SUV market. While the Creta EV impressed with its competitive pricing and specifications, five rival SUVs made headlines at the event, promising to shake up the market later this year.

1. Maruti e Vitara: Launching March-April 2025

Maruti’s first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, was unveiled with two battery pack options: a 49kWh unit producing 144bhp and 189Nm and a 61kWh dual motor AWD setup delivering 184bhp and 300Nm. With an expected price starting at ₹18 lakh, this SUV combines premium interiors with cutting-edge technology, directly rivaling the Creta EV.

2. Toyota Urban BEV Concept: A Stylish Sibling

Toyota showcased its Urban BEV Concept, a sibling to the e Vitara, sharing its powertrain and features but featuring a distinctive design. The SUV, resembling the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, is set to launch in the second half of 2025. With sleek LED headlamps and a bold exterior, it’s poised to be a compelling option for EV enthusiasts.

3. Tata Sierra: Production-Ready and Versatile

The iconic Tata Sierra returned as a production-ready SUV, offering petrol, diesel, and EV variants. Set to launch in late 2025, the Sierra features a futuristic design, large 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced triple-screen displays. Tata aims to make the Sierra a versatile competitor in multiple segments.

4. Vinfast VF6: Vietnamese Entry

Vietnamese EV maker Vinfast unveiled the VF6, equipped with a 59.6kWh battery pack and a range of 400 km. With premium features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, HUD, and a panoramic glass roof, the VF6 is expected to be priced between ₹24 lakh and ₹30 lakh, targeting tech-savvy buyers.

5. Mahindra BE6: Born Electric Excellence

Mahindra revealed its BE6, featuring a choice of 59kWh or 79kWh battery packs. Equipped with remote parking, a Harman premium sound system, and a HUD, the BE6 offers a luxurious yet practical EV option. Deliveries are set to begin by March 2025.

Conclusion

The Auto Expo 2025 marked a milestone for electric SUVs, with several models poised to challenge the Hyundai Creta EV. From affordable options like the e Vitara to premium offerings like the Vinfast VF6, 2025 promises to be a transformative year for EV buyers.
