MG Motor India has teased its upcoming Majestor SUV ahead of its official unveiling on February 12, 2026.
Positioned as MG’s new flagship SUV, the Majestor will sit above the Gloster and take on established rivals in the full-size SUV segment.
JSW MG Motor India has released a fresh teaser for its upcoming flagship, the MG Majestor. Designed to sit at the very top of MG's internal combustion engine (ICE) lineup, the Majestor is essentially a significant evolution and facelift of the Gloster, tailored to take on established giants like the Toyota Fortuner and the Skoda Kodiaq.
What We Know So Far?
The Majestor will be a new flagship SUV for MG in India, designed to sit above the Gloster in the company’s lineup. It is derived from the globally available Maxus D90 platform, adapted for the Indian market with a distinct exterior and premium aspirations.
From the teaser, the SUV’s front end makes a bold statement with a large gloss-black grille, slim LED lighting elements, and muscular bumper styling that underline its rugged road presence - a look that’s clearly aimed at buyers who want both capability and flagship road appeal.
What to Expect: Design, Features and Safety
The teaser suggests a bold yet refined design, with notable elements including:
Faux silver skid plate for a rugged off-road look
19-inch machined-finish alloy wheels that enhance stance and road presence
Generous ground clearance for commanding SUV proportions
Inside, the Majestor is expected to offer a premium, tech-forward cabin with dual 12.3-inch digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, panoramic sunroof, powered & ventilated seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and electric tailgate.
On the safety front, MG is likely to equip the SUV with multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill-start/hill-descent assist, TPMS, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Higher-end variants are expected to include Level 2 ADAS features such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and autonomous emergency braking.
Powertrain and Performance
While official powertrain details for India are yet to be confirmed, the MG Majestor is expected to mirror the engine lineup of the MG Gloster, featuring a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. This combination is likely to deliver a balance of strong performance, off-road capability, and smooth handling suited to India’s varied terrain.
Market Positioning
The Majestor will compete with full-size premium SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian. Pricing is expected to be higher than the Gloster, reflecting its flagship status, larger dimensions, richer feature set, and advanced technology, making it a compelling choice for buyers seeking a premium, tech-loaded SUV.
