2026 Hyundai Tucson spotted testing ahead of India Launch

Hyundai has started testing the next-gen Tucson SUV on Indian roads, giving a glimpse of the updated model. With new styling and a smarter cabin, the 2026 Tucson looks ready to raise the bar in the midsize SUV space.

hyundai Tucson

Hyundai has begun testing the updated Tucson SUV on Indian roads before its expected launch sometime in 2025 or early 2026. The new Tucson facelift follows the long-wheelbase version, which was already introduced in global markets.

Hyundai aims to maintain the Tucson’s premium appeal while staying competitive with newer rivals in the segment.

Exterior & Interior: Likely Updates

  • Exterior enhancements: Include a sharper parametric grille, updated LED DRLs, new bumpers, and fresh alloy wheel designs.

  • Interior gets a techno upgrade: Includes dual 12.3-inch curved screens, a streamlined dashboard, steering-column gear selector, physical HVAC knobs, and improved storage space.

Mechanical Continuity

  • No changes are expected for the Indian market: The facelift retains 2.0 L petrol (6‑AT) and 2.0 L diesel (8‑AT, optional AWD) powertrains.

Note: The diesel option is expected to continue for now, though Hyundai may phase it out in the future.

Features & Safety

  • The Indian model may gain Level‑2 ADAS, a 360‑degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, air purifier, and ventilated seats.

  • Hyundai’s new AI assistant, called Gleo, will enable natural voice conversations and help control various functions on command.

  • Expected to comply with Bharat NCAP safety norms, enhancing its safety credentials.

Launch Timeline and Pricing Expectations

Hyundai is expected to bring the updated Tucson to India by mid or late 2025, possibly unveiling it at one of the major auto expos. The new Tucson facelift is likely to be priced between ₹29 lakh and ₹36 lakh (ex-showroom), which puts it in the same league of midsize SUVs as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Jeep Compass.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Tucson is a facelift of an already successful car. Therefore, improving the design and features will only make it a stronger contender in the growing mid-size SUV segment. Hyundai aims for refinement with the Tucson rather than reinvention, which not only makes it more competitive without a great cost but also makes it more apt for the new age of technology.
