2024 Honda Amaze With Adas Tested Feature And Real World Experience

2024 Honda Amaze with ADAS Tested: Feature and Real-World Experience

Honda Amaze: Revolutionizing Subcompact Sedans with ADAS

The 2024 Honda Amaze has topped the chart of subcompact sedans taking the first and only position for the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Some of these advanced safety features we tested in real-world situations not long ago.

Here are typical impressions of Honda’s least expensive car and its high-tech ADAS capabilities.

ADAS Features: Testing the Highlights

Adaptive Cruise Control: Smooth and Reliable

But in their case, the adaptive cruise control combines the traditional feature of having an additional option to maintain or set a safe distance with the leading vehicle.

While testing, the Amaze kept a safe distance of two car lengths behind the car ahead of it. Its regular cruise management of the road when clear makes the car switch to regular cruise control without any interruption making the driving experience very smooth.

Lane Keep Assist: A Mixed Bag

Lane keep assist, designed to keep the car centered within its lane, showed potential but had occasional glitches. On straight roads, it performed adequately, but on curvy routes or when lane markings were inconsistent, it struggled to maintain position reliably.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Flawless Execution

The AEB system proved to be the highlight of successfully identifying obstacles, including pedestrians and animals. The system performs at high speed as well as at low speed and uses the brake properly to maintain safety measures.

Additional ADAS Features

While we primarily tested the above features, the Amaze also includes:

  • Road Departure Mitigation System

  • Automatic High/Low Beam Adjustment

  • Lead Vehicle Departure Notification

These features further enhance the sedan’s safety credentials, making it a segment leader in driver assistance.

Safety Beyond ADAS

The 2024 Honda Amaze doesn’t just stop at ADAS. It comes equipped with six airbags as standard, traction control, hill hold assist, a rearview camera, and Honda’s signature LaneWatch camera. Together, these features provide a comprehensive safety package for peace of mind.

Performance and Powertrain Options

Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, the Amaze features a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox, ensuring smooth and responsive performance for urban and highway driving.

Price and Competition

The 2024 Honda Amaze is priced competitively, with introductory prices ranging from ₹8 lakh to ₹10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). It faces stiff competition from rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor, but the inclusion of ADAS gives the Amaze a significant edge in the segment.

Verdict: Setting a New Standard

The features that enhance safety remain limited to subcompact sedans, and with the 2024 Honda Amaze, customers will have a shot at the type of safety features that were reserved for near-luxury models. Though it’s not perfect in every aspect including the lane keep assist, the adaptive cruise control and AEB systems work very well to instil it as a brilliant and contemporary technology sedan. With a price point that is well within range of most consumers’ budgets and ostentatious safety gear, Amaze has all it takes to benchmark innovation and dependability.
