The physical presence of your vehicle is mandatory
After a thorough inspection, the inspecting authority issues a clearance certificate for registration.
As per Central Motor Vehicles Act, re-registration of a vehicle becomes mandatory, 15 years after the original registration takes place, after which the vehicle should be re-registered every 5 years. This continues as long as the RTO considers the vehicle roadworthy.

When you sell your vehicle to someone else, or when you buy a used vehicle for yourself, vehicle transfer ownership becomes necessary. It is basically updating the RC with the present owner's details. This is done through the process of RC Reissue. This should be done everything when the vehicle owner changes either through trade or succession.
For transferring vehicle ownership you must apply through Form 29 (in Duplicate) and Form 30 ((in Duplicate in case of Finance, Hire Purchase or Lease)
Use forms 30 and 31, if transferring of vehicle ownership is because of inheritance
You have to pay Rs 150 for two-wheelers and Rs. 300 for cars. ( this can be subject to change)
