All RTOs have the same functions but some regional RTO may have some specific functions along with the general rules and regulations.

There are two ways to register a vehicle at the Bengaluru RTO:
Temporary Registration: It is valid for a 30-day period. During this period, the owner has to apply for permanent registration through a registered RTO in the Bengaluru
Permanent Registration: It is generally valid for 15 years and can be renewed later on. However, for commercial vehicles, it is 20 years period. It can be accessed through a valid process of registration at the RTO Office.
Procedure for the registration of a Vehicle at the Bengaluru RTO Office is as follows:
Visit the official website or the Parivahan Sewa website.
Select 'the Vehicle Registration' section.
You will be asked to apply for a temporary registration or permanent registration.
Select the type of registration and enter valid information and attach the required documents.
Once the filling process is done, take the printout of the application.
Submit the printout with
Form 20 (For applicants who are applying for registration for the first time.
Form 21 of CMVR (Certificate of Sale from whom the vehicle has been purchased)
Form 22 and 22A (Declaration regarding pollution and safety compliances(
Copy of Valid Insurance Certificate and fitness certificate
Copy of Address Proof (Aadhaar Card, Pass Book)
Form 60 or 61 for the agriculturist only.
Once the verification is complete, you will get the registration certificate at your doorstep within 90 days.
Renewal of Vehicle registration can be done within 60 days of the expiration period of your existing registration for continuous use.
The procedure is similar to the process of registering your vehicle:

The required documents are the same as new RC. You can use the old registration certificate and Form 25 to apply for the renewal of registration for a vehicle at the nearest Bengaluru RTO office.

Enter the following details:

Confirmation will be sent to you within 30 working days.
