The Audi Q5 is a premium mid-size SUV that epitomizes sophistication and performance. With its sleek design, advanced technology, and luxurious interior, the Audi Q5 offers a delightful driving experience. Equipped with a range of powerful engines and quattro all-wheel drive, the Q5 delivers impressive performance and handling on any terrain. Its spacious cabin is adorned with high-quality materials and cutting-edge features, providing comfort and convenience to both driver and passengers. The Audi Q5 stands as a shining example of Audi cars in India, combining elegance and versatility seamlessly.
Positioned between the Q3 and Q7 in Audi's SUV lineup, the Audi Q5 is a popular and much-preferred option among midsize luxury SUV buyers. After a small hiatus, the Audi Q5 returned to the Indian car market in 2019 with the second-generation version.
With this comeback version in the Indian market, the Audi Q5 became more premium, better equipped, and sleeker-looking. The Audi Q5 competes with other midsize luxury SUVs in the Indian market, such as the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Land Rover Discovery Sport.
In 2021, the second-generation version of the Q5 received a cosmetic makeover, in which we saw the SUV featuring visual tweaks and feature additions inside-out. This version continues to be the same for the 2023 model of the SUV.
Unlike the first-generation Audi Q5 on sale in India with petrol and diesel powertrains, the second-generation Q5 became a petrol-only SUV. The Audi Q5 is available in two variants in the Indian market - Premium Plus and Technology. Both these variants come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard.
Audi also offers its Quattro all-wheel drive system as standard on both variants of the Q5. The colour options for the Audi Q5 are Navarra Blue, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Manhattan Grey and District Green.
The Audi Q5 is an urban-looking SUV, and in this facelifted version, it has become sleeker to look at than ever before. With edges and sharp character lines all around, the Q5 looks flashier and matches its premium positioning.
At the front, the Audi Q5 features a large-sized octagonal grille with satin chrome surrounds and vertical struts. Audi is offering Matrix LED headlamps as standard in both variants, which are shaped within trapezoidal housings near the upper edges of the front grille.
The tiny rounded fog lamps are placed within large air dams on the corners of the front bumper. These air dams are split in half to accommodate an air curtain. To add a pinch of ruggedness, the front bumper comes with a thick-looking silver skid plate in the middle.
Move towards the side profile of the Audi Q5, and the first thing you will notice is the presence of a sharp curve, which flows from the edge of the headlamp to that of the tail lamp. The rounded wheel arches and bottom of the door panels come with slim-looking gloss-black cladding over them.
While the Premium Plus variant has 19-inch Graphite Grey alloy wheels, the Technology variant has more premium-looking 19-inch machined alloy wheels with a different pattern. The door-mounted mirrors and slim satin silver roof rails add more style to the side profile of the Q5.
At the back, the Audi Q5 comes with large LED tail lamps placed on the sides of the boot lid. These tail lamps are connected with a thin strip of chrome, which runs between the lower edges of the tail lamps.
The slightly rakish rear windscreen has air curtains on the sides and a roof-mounted spoiler, beyond which it gets a small shark fin antenna. The rear bumper has black cladding around its lower portion, incorporating the twin exhaust ports.
The Technology variant of the Audi Q5 gets a couple of additional features over its Premium Plus variant, such as a memory function for the driver's seat and ORVMs, a wireless charger and a full-TFT Audi Virtual Cockpit.
Audi has two leather upholstery options for the Q5 - Atlas Beige (dual-tone black and beige) and Okapi Brown (dual-tone black and walnut brown). The cabin gets satin chrome inserts on the steering wheel, lower centre console and around the AC vents and instrument console.
Both the variants of the Audi Q5 are nicely equipped with a 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The other features common to both variants are 30-colour ambient lighting, tri-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and cruise control.
Both the variants also get a few comfort-oriented features like Audi drive select, powered and heated ORVMs, auto-dimming rearview mirror, powered front seats, rear sunblinds and a powered tailgate. The Premium Plus variant gets a 180W 10-speaker sound system, while the Technology variant comes equipped with a more premium 755W 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Audi is known for making refined and powerful turbocharged petrol engines, and the 2.0-litre four-cylinder TFSI petrol engine powering the Q5 is no different. With 250 PS and 370 Nm on tap, the Audi Q5 feels energetic in its power delivery to the person driving it.
Audi claims that the Q5 can cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 6.3 seconds, which is quick for an SUV of this size and weight. Audi also claims a top speed of 237 kmph for the Q5.
Audi's much-acclaimed Quattro all-wheel drive is also offered as standard on both the variants of the Q5, which sharpens the handling and stability of the SUV at all speeds.
The standard suspension on both the Audi Q5 variants offers a calm and composed ride quality, with the adjustable dampers in the Technology variant fine-tuning the experience even more.
The Audi Q5 is a large midsize SUV, which can be strenuous to drive and park for people new to driving. However, Audi has taken notice of this concern and added Audi Park Assist with a self-parking feature in the Q5. This smart-operating feature enables you to park the Q5 in tight spots, with the SUV taking care of the job by itself.
You can add more convenience in parking your Audi Q5 in tough-to-find spots with the help of Park+ app. This innovative application helps you find a safe parking spot using its location finder feature, which detects and navigates you to an empty parking spot. The additional features of Park+, including checking challan status and buying car insurance, can also be more helpful in your overall ownership experience.

The Audi Q5 has priced at Rs 61.51 lakh for the Premium Plus and Rs 67.31 lakh for the Technology variant. Considering the segment of premium luxury midsize SUVs to which it belongs, the Audi Q5 is one of the most value-for-money offerings you can buy from that category.
Audi claims a maximum fuel efficiency of 13.47 kmpl for the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine of the Q5.
The Audi Q5 is available with Audi's famed Quattro all-wheel drive technology. It does not make it one of the complete go-anywhere off-roaders having pure four-wheel drive technology. Instead, the Quattro technology enables the power delivery to all four wheels for an increase in traction and grip for enhanced stability while driving at higher speeds and corners.
The Audi Q5 is solely available with a five-seater configuration, and there is no 7-seater option available for the Q5. The only 7-seater SUV from Audi is Q7, positioned above the Q5 in Audi's lineup.
The Audi Q5 has a length of 4682mm long, a width of 1893mm and a height of 1655mm tall, which makes it as big-looking as other premium midsize luxury SUVs in the market. The Q5 is a large and sleek-looking SUV, which gives it a smart-looking road presence of a premium and expensive vehicle.
The Audi Q5 has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which claims 250 PS of maximum power and 370 Nm of maximum torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is the standard transmission offered in the Audi Q5.

Audi claims a top speed of 237 kmph for the Q5. It can also cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 6.3 seconds, which makes it one of the fastest midsize luxury SUVs in the country.
Audi is offering a panoramic sunroof as standard equipment in both variants of the Q5.
The standard safety features in the Audi Q5 are eight airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, traction control, an electronic stability program, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. With an extensive list of safety features and Audi's history of making safe cars, it is safe to say that the Q5 is high on safety.
