Will The Kia Ev9 Electric Suv Cost Nearly 1 Cr Lets Analyze

Will the Kia EV9 Electric SUV cost nearly 1 Cr? Let's analyze

The Kia EV9, set to arrive in India in 2024 as Kia's flagship electric SUV, showcases several reasons why it might cost nearly Rs 1 crore. Here are five key aspects that contribute to its premium pricing:

Futuristic Design:

The Kia EV9 boasts a futuristic design that captures attention with innovative elements. Noteworthy features include digital pattern lighting integrated into the grille and vertically aligned LED DRLs known as star map lighting. The rear design follows suit with vertical LED taillights and an extended roof spoiler, adding to its modern appeal.

Dimensions:

With dimensions of 5015 mm in length, 1980 mm in width, and up to 1780 mm in height, the EV9 offers a spacious and commanding presence. The generous wheelbase of 3100 mm and large 21-inch alloy wheels on the showcased GT Line AWD variant emphasize its distinctive size and stance.

Features:

The Kia EV9 comes loaded with premium features to enhance comfort and convenience. This includes dual 12.3-inch screens, a 5.3-inch climate control display, a high-quality 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and hidden touch-enabled controls. The SUV also offers a massage function for front and middle-row seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and a comprehensive 3-zone climate control system for a luxurious driving experience.

Practicality:

The EV9 prioritizes practicality by incorporating ample storage spaces throughout the cabin. Front armrest storage, dedicated centre storage below the armrest in the front row, and separate storage areas with cup holders for second-row passengers cater to everyday storage needs. Additionally, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality allows powering external appliances, adding to its versatility.

Performance:

Equipped with either a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration, the Kia EV9 delivers impressive performance. The RWD variant features a 203 PS power output and 350 Nm torque, while the AWD variant boasts a powerful 384 PS engine with 700 Nm torque. Both variants offer substantial driving range and speed capabilities, making the EV9 both practical and dynamic on the road.

Expected to enter the Indian market in the latter half of 2024, the Kia EV9 is positioned to provide a luxury electric SUV experience with a starting price of around Rs 80 lakh. Designed as a spacious and sophisticated alternative, it will compete with rivals like the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE Electric SUV in the premium electric SUV segment.
