Waiting Period For New Kia Carnival Stretches To 6 Months

Waiting Period For New Kia Carnival Stretches to 6 Months

Following its launch on October 3, Kia India has announced that the waiting period for the all-new Kia Carnival has been extended to six months. With high demand for this premium MPV priced at Rs 63.90 lakh, customers who place their bookings today may have to wait until May or June 2024 for delivery.

Kia Carnival Booking Updates

Bookings for the fourth-generation Carnival began on September 16, and since then, Kia India has recorded 3,350 orders for the model. At the time of its launch, the company had already secured 2,796 bookings, with the remaining 554 orders placed over the past month and a half.

The Carnival is offered in a single, fully loaded 7-seater trim (2+2+3 seating configuration) and is available in two elegant color options:

  • Glacier White Pearl

  • Fusion Black

Interestingly, demand for both color options is evenly distributed, reflecting a balanced preference among buyers. Kia has also confirmed that 400 units have already been delivered to customers.

Production Challenges and Expansion Plans

The Kia Carnival is assembled at the company’s plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, using semi-knocked-down (SKD) kits. The plant currently produces 300 units per month, but given the surge in demand, Kia India has requested additional kits from its headquarters to ramp up production.

Premium Features and Highlights

The fourth-gen Kia Carnival is packed with features that set it apart in the MPV segment. Some standout highlights include:

  • Powered second-row captain's chairs with heating, ventilation, and extendable leg support.

  • 12-way powered driver’s seat for ultimate comfort.

  • Dual 12.3-inch curved displays for instrument cluster and infotainment .

  • Dual electric sunroofs, adding to the luxury experience.

  • Three-zone climate control for tailored comfort across all rows.

  • An 11-inch head-up display to enhance driving convenience.

  • A premium 12-speaker Bose sound system for an immersive audio experience.

Engine and Performance

The New Kia Carnival is powered by a 193hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It boasts an impressive ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 14.85 kpl, making it both powerful and economical.

A Unique Offering in the Market

The Kia Carnival currently has no direct rivals in the Indian automotive market, cementing its position as a standout luxury MPV. Its combination of cutting-edge features, premium comfort, and robust performance has made it a popular choice for buyers looking for a high-end, family-oriented vehicle.

Conclusion

With its luxurious design, advanced features, and high demand, the new Kia Carnival has become a compelling choice for discerning buyers. While the six-month waiting period may test the patience of some, the Carnival’s premium features and performance make it well worth the wait.
