Tata Tiago Ev Gets An Update Say Goodbye To Midnight Plum

Tata Tiago EV Gets an Update: Say Goodbye to Midnight Plum

Tata Motors has made some changes to the popular Tata Tiago EV, and while they might seem small, they’ve caught the attention of car enthusiasts. One of the biggest updates? The sleek and stylish "Midnight Plum" color option is no longer available.

But why did Tata make this change, and what does it mean for Tiago EV fans?

Let’s take a closer look at the update and what remains the same in this budget-friendly electric car.

Goodbye, Midnight Plum: What Happened to the Unique Shade?

The Tata Tiago EV was known for offering some eye-catching color choices, and Midnight Plum stood out for its deep, rich purple finish. This color gave the Tiago EV a modern, bold look, making it a favorite among buyers who wanted something different.

However, Tata has decided to discontinue this option. While they haven’t given an official reason, it’s common for carmakers to retire certain colors based on demand or to simplify production. Sometimes, limited sales of a specific color make it less practical to continue offering it. For Tiago EV owners who already have a Midnight Plum car, this change means they now own a rare version of the EV.

But don’t worry! If you were eyeing the Tiago EV, there are still other attractive colors to choose from, like Teal Blue, Tropical Mist, and Daytona Grey. Each of these options still adds flair to the Tiago EV’s sporty design.

What Else Has Changed in the Tata Tiago EV?

Other than the color update, the Tata Tiago EV remains mostly the same. There haven’t been major changes to the design, features, or battery options. Tata seems to be sticking with the formula that has made this car a hit among electric vehicle buyers.

The Tiago EV continues to be offered in multiple variants, with two battery pack options: a 19.2 kWh battery and a larger 24 kWh battery. These batteries provide a driving range of up to 250 km and 315 km, respectively. The smaller battery pack is ideal for city driving, while the larger one offers more flexibility for longer trips.

Charging times are also unchanged. The Tiago EV supports both regular and fast charging. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. For home charging, it takes about 6.5 hours to fully charge the car with a 7.2 kW AC charger.

Why the Tiago EV Continues to Be a Popular Choice

Even without the Midnight Plum color, the Tata Tiago EV remains one of the best options for anyone looking to switch to electric driving. It’s affordable, practical, and packed with features that make daily driving easy and fun.

The Tiago EV comes with a range of modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and connected car technology. Safety hasn’t been overlooked either. The car includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors, making it a safe choice for families.

Tata has also priced the Tiago EV smartly. With a starting price of around ₹8.69 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s one of the most budget-friendly electric cars in India. Plus, with increasing fuel prices, the Tiago EV offers a cost-effective way to get around without worrying about petrol or diesel costs.

What’s Next for Tata Motors?

Tata Motors has been leading the electric vehicle revolution in India, and the Tiago EV is just one part of their growing lineup. The company’s other EVs, like the Tata Nexon EV and the Tigor EV, have also been well-received.

As the electric car market continues to grow, Tata is likely to keep updating its models to stay ahead. While we might see more color options or new features in the future, for now, the focus seems to be on delivering reliable and affordable electric vehicles for the masses.

The removal of Midnight Plum could be part of a larger strategy to simplify the lineup or make room for new updates down the road. Whatever the case, Tata is committed to offering value and innovation to its customers.

Overall, The Tata Tiago EV’s latest update might be small, but it reflects the ever-changing world of cars. The disappearance of Midnight Plum might disappoint some fans, but the Tiago EV’s core strengths remain. It’s still a smart, stylish, and practical choice for anyone looking to go electric without breaking the bank.

In a world where electric cars are becoming more popular, the Tata Tiago EV continues to stand out for its affordability and practicality. Whether you’re a new driver or someone looking to make the switch to EVs, this car still ticks all the right boxes.

So, while we say goodbye to Midnight Plum, the future of the Tiago EV remains bright and exciting.
