Urban Cruiser Taisor V The Top Sec Toyota Taisor Is The Most Popular Trim

Urban Cruiser Taisor V: The Top-sec Toyota Taisor is the most popular Trim

Toyota launched its Taisor a month ago but the sales and figures of these cars narrate a different story. It was introduced in the Indian market, offering a range of prices from Rs 7.74 lakh to 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom), and has made its spot as the most popular trim as per dealers.

Booking Trends and Preferences

One notable trend is the preference for the Taisor turbo-petrol variant, which accounts for over 45% of all bookings. In comparison, only 10% of bookings at the Fronx were made using the turbo-petrol option. The reason behind the popularity of the turbo-petrol Taisor could be that Toyota paid the extra cost of Maruti's powertrain, making it more expensive than the Fronx model. It's interesting to note that the prices of the turbo versions are the same, and about 55% of buyers choose the manual gearbox. The 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission that comes with the 1.0-liter turbo is also well-received.

Preferences for Color and Variants

Cafe White is the most popular color option for the Urban Cruiser Taisor, followed by Gaming Grey, Sportin Red, and Lucent Orange. Dealers report that the S+ AMT variation is second in line for bookings, after the pricier V AT and V MT variants. 15% of reservations have gone to the CNG version, which is only offered in the base E model. In India, the Taisor is Toyota's most reasonably priced SUV, competing with the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite.

Position in the Market and Competition

With a wide choice of features and options to suit different client preferences, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor joins a competitive SUV market in India. Presented as a cost-effective SUV choice, the Taisor seeks to distinguish itself from its rivals by offering a combination of functionality, design, and price. Toyota's strategic approach with the Taisor demonstrates a keen awareness of the changing Indian automotive landscape as the industry changes and customer preferences fluctuate.

Overall, Toyota wants to provide an affordable SUV that is a strong alternative, and this is evident as the model becomes more popular and consumer feedback continues to influence its future direction. The Taisor intends to appeal to a wide variety of clients wanting a balance of performance, style, and value in their SUV choice with a comprehensive selection of versions and colors.
