Toyota Fortuner Prices Increased by Up to ₹50,000

Toyota Kirloskar Motor announces a price hike for the Fortuner SUV, with increments ranging between ₹35,000 and ₹50,000. The updated pricing applies to all variants starting immediately.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has revised the prices of its flagship SUV, the Toyota Fortuner. The price hike, effective immediately, applies to all variants of the model.

The increment ranges from ₹35,000 to ₹50,000, depending on the variant, making it the latest update in the pricing of this popular SUV.

Toyota attributes the increase to rising input costs and other market factors that have affected production expenses.

The Fortuner remains one of the best-selling SUVs in its segment, offering robust performance, luxury features, and a commanding road presence. Despite the higher price tags, the Fortuner is expected to retain its appeal among customers seeking a premium SUV experience.

Standard Range Variants: New Prices Revealed

The standard range of the Toyota Fortuner has seen varying levels of price hikes. Among these, the GR-S variant has received the steepest increase of ₹50,000.

The GR-S, known for its sportier design and enhanced performance, is one of the most premium options in the Fortuner lineup.

Other diesel-powered variants, including the 2.8 Diesel MT 4x2, 2.8 Diesel AT 4x2, 2.8 Diesel MT 4x4, and 2.8 Diesel AT 4x4, have seen a price increase of ₹40,000 each.

Meanwhile, the petrol-powered 2.7 Petrol MT 4x2 and 2.7 Petrol AT 4x2 variants are now ₹35,000 more expensive.

These price adjustments aim to align Fortuner’s cost structure with market trends while maintaining its competitive edge. Customers interested in standard variants now face higher price points but continue to benefit from the Fortuner’s well-regarded performance and reliability.

Legender Range: Significant Price Adjustments

The premium Legender range of the Toyota Fortuner has also been impacted by the price revision. Both the 2.8 Diesel 4x2 AT and 2.8 Diesel 4x4 AT variants have had their prices increased by ₹45,000 each.

The Legender variants are characterized by their distinct styling and advanced features, targeting customers who seek added luxury and exclusivity.

Despite the price hike, the Legender range continues to offer features such as LED headlamps, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and an overall more refined design compared to the standard range.

Revised Price Range of the Toyota Fortuner

With these updates, the Toyota Fortuner’s price now begins at ₹33.78 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant.

The top-spec GR-S variant now costs ₹48.09 lakh (ex-showroom). This wide price range accommodates various customer preferences and budgets, solidifying Fortuner’s position in the competitive SUV segment.

For customers planning to purchase the Fortuner, the updated prices mean a slight increase in overall ownership costs. However, Toyota continues to justify its pricing with a blend of premium features, proven performance, and unmatched durability.

Engine and Transmission Options

The Toyota Fortuner is powered by two engine options: a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers reliable performance, catering to urban and highway driving conditions.

Meanwhile, the diesel engine, available in multiple configurations, is known for its robust torque output, making it ideal for off-road adventures and long-distance travel.

Transmission choices include a five-speed manual gearbox for the petrol variant, a six-speed manual for the diesel, and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission for both fuel types. These options offer flexibility to cater to diverse driving preferences, enhancing Fortuner’s appeal across a broad customer base.

Impact on Market Position

The Toyota Fortuner continues to dominate its segment, competing with rivals such as the MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Skoda Kodiaq.

Known for its reliability, off-road capability, and strong resale value, the Fortuner has remained a preferred choice for SUV enthusiasts in India.

While the price hike may impact cost-conscious buyers, Toyota’s reputation for quality and after-sales service ensures sustained demand.

The Fortuner’s legacy, built on years of customer trust and satisfaction, positions it as a reliable choice despite rising costs.

In conclusion, Toyota’s decision to revise Fortuner’s pricing reflects the company’s response to evolving market conditions and rising input costs. With prices now ranging from ₹33.78 lakh to ₹48.09 lakh (ex-showroom), the Fortuner continues to offer value through its performance, features, and durability. Potential buyers should account for these changes when considering their next SUV purchase.
