Audi will unveil the third-generation Q3 SUV on a global stage on June 16, 2025, and before that, Audi has released the first official teaser images of the Q3. The teaser images show significant styling changes and will include the use of hybrid technology in a compact luxury SUV.
The last Q3 was launched in India in 2022; however, it had started to look dated in global markets that have had the Q3 for sale since 2018. The next Q3 should have a total makeover that combines aggressive styling with modern tech implementations.
New Look: Pixel DRLs and Chiselled Bodywork
The teaser pictures are shown with a more defined design for the new Q3. Notable items include the now straighter A-pillar, bulging fenders, and a new redesigned front end. There is also a split-headlamp design as a notable design cue that is not part of previous designs. The daytime running lights are designed with pixels to give a modern scheme, and the main headlights are positioned lower on the bumper like many recent SUVs to create a bold design.
Audi has not provided any interior photos, but we would expect the interior will share elements of the modern design language of Audi. There will likely be a digital-heavy interface and genuine luxury materials.
Powertrain: Petrol and Plug-in Hybrid to Come
Audi has not confirmed any engine options as of yet, but the previously mentioned 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that currently produces and 320 Nm in India will likely be continued. This engine is mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and uses quattro all-wheel drive to provide a sporty driving experience with comfort.
What could be new is the launch of a plug-in hybrid variant, especially in the UK and Europe, where emissions restrictions are progressively tightening. That would bring the Q3 into step with rivals such as the BMW X1 and the Mercedes GLA, both of which offer electrified versions.
The new Q3 should build on the original vehicle's blend of style, performance, and efficiency for its return to the premium compact SUV segment. The official global debut on June 16 will provide more details, as well as insight into potential interior upgrades and technology features.
