The Citroen Basalt To Be Launched Today In India!.webp

Citroen is all set to launch the Basalt X variant in India today, on September 5, 2025. This is a special edition, the Basalt SUV-coupé that offers cosmetic upgrades and some extra features.

All-Black Exterior Designs

The Basalt X features a complete black exterior theme, giving it a bold and sporty appearance. These changes make it look different and more premium compared to the standard Basalt.

Here are some key elements of the exteriors in an all-black theme:

  • Dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels

  • A coupe-style sloping roofline

  • Wraparound LED tail lamps

Updated Look Of The Cabin

Inside, the Basalt X gets a black-and-tan interior theme, replacing the lighter shades of the regular model. A rear center armrest with cup holders has been added for improved passenger comfort. Citroen might also have ambient lighting, which will make the cabin feel more stylish at night.

Features The New Model Offers

The new Basalt X will continue to offer the same list of features as the standard Basalt, including:

  • 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

  • 7-inch digital driver’s display

  • Auto AC with rear vents

  • A 6-speaker sound system

  • Wireless phone charging

  • Adjustable under-thigh support for rear seats

On the safety side, it comes with:

  • Six airbags

  • A tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)

  • Hill-hold assist

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • A 360-degree camera could also be available

No Changes In The Engine And Powertrain Options

The Basalt X will have the same petrol engine options as before:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (82 PS, 115 Nm) with 5-speed manual

  • 1.2-litre turbo petrol (110 PS, 190 Nm) with 6-speed manual and (110 PS, 205 Nm) with 6-speed automatic.

The Expected Price

The standard Basalt has a price range from ₹8.32 lakh to ₹14.10 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The Basalt X is expected to cost a little more than its regular version. It will have rivals like the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, etc.

In Summary

The Citroen Basalt X is launching today with a fresh all-black design, new dual-tone interiors, extra comfort features, and the same petrol engine options. With a small price increase expected, it will give buyers a sportier and more premium choice in the growing SUV-coupe segment.
