Tata has launched the new Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG with the twin-cylinder layout
The new Tata Tiago and Tigor have been launched at starting prices of Rs. 6.55 lakhs and Rs. 7.80 lahks respectively, both ex-showroom prices. The Tiago CNG is offered in four variants - XM, XZ, XZ+, and XZ+ LP. And the Tiago CNG is offered in seven variants - XE, XM, XT, XZ+, XZ+ dual-tone, XT NRG, and XZ NRG.
The Tiago and Tigor, both are powered by a 1.2-litre, in-line, three-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a five-speed manual or an AMT unit that makes a good 85 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The CNG guise will use the same engine but will produce 72 bhp of power and 103 Nm of peak torque. The Punch CNG comes with a five-speed manual transmission. The same engine is used by the Tata Punch CNG as well.
The twin-cylinder setup under the boot has created a boot space of 70-litres for both cars. The Tata Tiago CNG locks horns with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The Tata Tigor CNG will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura among others in the segment.
