Tata Safari Stealth Edition vs Regular Safari: Design and Features Compared

The Tata Safari Stealth Edition brings an all-black theme to the iconic SUV, offering a bold, modern twist to its exterior and interior design while retaining its powerful performance.

Tata Motor impressed auto enthusiasts at the Auto Expo 2025 with its lineup of concepts and special editions. One standout was the Tata Safari Stealth Edition, which showcased a bold matte-black exterior and blacked-out elements.

Here’s a detailed comparison of the Stealth Edition and the regular Safari, covering their design, features, and more.

Exterior Design: Bold vs. Traditional

Front Design

The Tata Safari Stealth Edition stands out with its all-black matte exterior. The front fascia features a blacked-out grille, headlight housings, and an all-black bumper with skid plates. In contrast, the regular Safari opts for a more polished look, with chrome accents inside the headlights and a silver skid plate for a premium touch.

Side Profile

On the sides, the Stealth Edition boasts blacked-out 19-inch alloy wheels and door handles, adding to its stealthy appearance. The fender proudly displays a unique “Stealth” branding, setting it apart. Meanwhile, the regular Safari features chrome-finished door handles and dual-tone alloy wheels, giving it a more traditional SUV look.

Rear View

At the back, the Stealth Edition carries forward its dark theme with a blacked-out Tata logo and Safari branding. The lower bumper, which features chrome elements in the regular Safari, is also finished in black in this edition.

Interior Design: Elegant vs. Understated

Cabin Theme

The Stealth Edition extends its all-black theme to the interior, replacing the dual-tone cabin of the standard Safari. This monochromatic approach gives the Stealth Edition a modern and understated elegance.

Features

The Stealth Edition is expected to include top-tier features like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a premium 10-speaker audio setup, and dual-zone automatic climate control. While the regular Safari offers similar features in its higher trims, the all-black interiors of the Stealth Edition enhance its sophisticated vibe.

Features and Safety: A High-Tech Edge

Both the Stealth Edition and the regular Safari come equipped with a robust safety suite, including seven airbags, a reverse parking camera, and Level 2 ADAS features. While these features are standard on higher trims of the regular Safari, the Stealth Edition packages them with a unique aesthetic flair.

Powertrain: No Mechanical Changes

Under the hood, both SUVs share the same 2.0-liter diesel engine, delivering 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Stealth Edition focuses solely on visual upgrades, ensuring the same reliable performance as the regular Safari.

Price and Competition

The regular Tata Safari is priced between ₹15.50 lakh and ₹27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Stealth Edition’s pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it is expected to command a slight premium over the top-spec Accomplished Plus 6-seater variant.

In terms of rivals, the Tata Safari competes with the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700. With its bold new look, the Stealth Edition might attract buyers looking for a blend of performance and style.

Conclusion

In conclusion, The Tata Safari Stealth Edition offers a striking alternative for those who prefer a bolder, more distinctive SUV design. While the regular Safari appeals to buyers with its balanced aesthetics and premium feel, the Stealth Edition’s all-black theme delivers a modern and edgy look.

With no changes to the powertrain, it’s purely a visual upgrade that’s likely to catch the eye of enthusiasts. Whether you choose the classic or the bold, the Tata Safari continues to stand as a symbol of performance and style in the SUV market.
