India’s best-selling car, the Tata Punch, is getting a facelift sooner than expected. Initially planned for mid-2025, the launch has now been moved up to maintain its competitive edge in the market. Here’s a detailed look at what the upcoming facelift will offer.
Tata Punch Facelift: New Features and Trims
The 2024 Tata Punch facelift will introduce several tech and comfort upgrades, aimed at enhancing user experience:
A 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity.
Wireless charging pad and C-type fast charging ports for the high-end Accomplished and Creative variants.
Sunroof availability across more variants.
A redesigned center console and the addition of rear AC vents for better comfort.
Tata Motors is also revising its variant lineup, discontinuing models like Pure Rhythm, Accomplished, Accomplished (Sunroof), and Creative flagship. The new lineup will include Pure (O), Adventure S, and Adventure+ S variants, with a reshuffle in features across trims to better cater to customer preferences.
Tata Punch Facelift: Design Updates
Taking inspiration from the upcoming Punch EV, the facelifted model will feature:
A fresh front fascia with new LED DRL signatures, headlamps, and updated bumpers.
Minimal changes at the rear, while the interior will have a new color scheme and upholstery, offering a more premium feel.
Tata Punch Facelift: Engine and Performance
There are no changes to the engine, as the Punch will continue to be powered by the reliable 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, generating 86hp and 113 Nm of torque. It will be available with either a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The CNG variant will also continue, with the possibility of an AMT option for the CNG model being introduced.
Competition
The facelifted Tata Punch will continue to compete with the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, as well as the lower variants of the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
With its updated features and revamped design, the Tata Punch facelift will further solidify its dominance in the sub-4m SUV segment.
