Tata Motors has given a stylistic injection in its highly popular micro-SUV by launching two new exterior colours that include Supernova Copper and Pure Grey.
These complement the current palette that consists of empowered Oxide, seaweed, fearless red, Daytona grey and Pristine white. These shades include more options to personalise Punch EV when bought and maintaining a fresh selection in showrooms.
Long Range Options Faster Charging
The largest functional enhancement comes with the convenience- DC charging of the Long Range Punch EV that will be faster. Owners can now quickly charge their vehicle; using a 50kW (or greater) fast DC charger, they can charge the car batteries to 80 percent in only 40 minutes of charging it and a further 20 minutes to fully charge.
Also, a 15-minute top-up has a potential driving range of 90 km, therefore being more practical in case of urban and semi-urban users who would often use public charging equipment.
These improvements are available only to ‘Long Range Versions’ that get the bigger 35kWh battery pack.
Battery Options and Range
The Tata Punch EV is offered with two battery pack options:
25kWh Standard Range: Claimed range of 265 km (MIDC cycle)
35kWh Long Range: Claimed range of 365 km (MIDC cycle)
Both model versions have an individual electric motor assembly surpassing a balance between economy and performance that are suited to the city and occasional highway use.
EV Market Competitive Edge
As the smallest EV in the compact segment becomes increasingly crowded by other models, Tata Motors is trying to ensure it remains a contender with faster charging of Long Range versions and new, eye-catching colour options.
The updates make the car look and feel better as well as being more practical, something that can give the Punch EV the edge over competitors such as the MG Comet EV.
