Tata Motors is all set to reveal the prices of its highly anticipated Tata Curvv ICE on 2 September 2024. Following the successful debut of the Curvv EV, this Coupe SUV is designed to bring a breath of fresh air to the Indian mid-size SUV segment with its unique styling and comprehensive features. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming petrol and diesel versions of the Tata Curvv ICE.
Sleek and Stylish Exterior
The Tata Curvv ICE is built on Tata Motors' new ATLAS platform, making it both robust and versatile. Although the ICE version mirrors the design of its electric sibling, there are subtle differences that set them apart. The ICE version boasts a distinctive front fascia with air vents, chrome embellishments, and integrated front sensors and cameras. However, the striking LED DRL strip, flush door handles, and bold 18-inch alloy wheels remain constants across both versions. The Curvv's coupe-like silhouette, with its sloping roofline and connected LED tail lights, ensures that it stands out from the competition.
Additionally, the ICE Curvv is the first in its segment to offer a powered tailgate with gesture controls, making it both futuristic and practical.
Luxurious and Tech-Savvy Interior
Stepping inside, the Tata Curvv ICE is expected to be available in four trims — Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished. The cabin features a premium dual-tone burgundy and black interior that exudes luxury. A host of tech-driven features include a four-spoke steering wheel, a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Passengers can indulge in the rich nine-speaker JBL sound system and appreciate conveniences like ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable six-way driver’s seat, and a two-step recline for rear passengers. Safety isn’t compromised either, with the Curvv offering a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, electronic stability control, and more.
Multiple Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Curvv ICE will be offered with three engine options, catering to various driving preferences. A new 1.2-litre TGDI turbo-petrol engine will headline the lineup, delivering 123bhp and 225Nm of torque. This will be accompanied by two familiar engines from the Nexon range: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol producing 118bhp and 170Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine offering 116bhp and 260Nm. All engines will come with the option of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, marking the debut of a diesel DCT in this segment.
Launch, Competition, and Market Positioning
The Tata Curvv ICE will officially launch on 2 September 2024, with pricing expected to place it in direct competition with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and more. With its bold styling, tech-laden interiors, and multiple engine options, the Tata Curvv ICE is poised to make a significant impact on the mid-size SUV market.
