New Gen Kia Carnival Spotted In India Ahead Of October Launch More Premium And Powerful Than Ever

New-Gen Kia Carnival Spotted in India Ahead of October Launch: More Premium and Powerful Than Ever

The highly anticipated new-generation Kia Carnival has been spotted in India completely undisguised ahead of its official launch, which is set for 3 October 2024. This new model will replace the previous generation, which was discontinued over a year ago. The latest version of the luxury MPV was seen being shipped into the country, dressed in a pristine white shade, indicating that Kia is preparing to reintroduce this premium model to the Indian market.

According to reports, the new-gen Carnival will initially be brought into India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) before Kia begins assembling it at its Anantapur plant. This move aligns with Kia’s strategy for the second half of CY2024, which focuses on launching its premium models in India. Alongside the Carnival, Kia is also launching the much-awaited EV9, a flagship electric SUV that further reinforces Kia’s commitment to the future of sustainable mobility.

The 2024 Kia Carnival boasts a completely revamped exterior design, with a more sophisticated and modern look that enhances its road presence. The cabin has also received a major overhaul, offering a more luxurious and tech-loaded experience for passengers. However, for the Indian market, the Carnival will continue to be powered by the familiar 2.2-litre diesel engine from the outgoing model. This engine generates a healthy 191bhp and 441Nm of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With this setup, the Carnival promises to offer a powerful yet comfortable driving experience, ideal for long-distance journeys.

Kia’s decision to continue with the diesel engine in India reflects the ongoing demand for diesel-powered MPVs in the market. However, the new Carnival is expected to see a price increase over the outgoing model, reflecting its more premium positioning and added features. While pricing details are yet to be confirmed, industry insiders suggest that the Carnival will cater to a more upscale audience, targeting buyers who prioritize comfort, space, and technology in their vehicles.

Interestingly, the launch of the new Carnival and EV9 will set the stage for more exciting developments from Kia in the coming months. The company is reportedly planning to introduce a facelifted version of the Carens ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and a Carens EV in the first half of CY2025. This strategic rollout of premium models highlights Kia’s ambition to establish itself as a leader in both the ICE and EV segments in India.

With the new-gen Kia Carnival set to make its debut in just a few weeks, anticipation is building for what promises to be one of the most significant MPV launches of the year. Whether it’s the enhanced design, luxurious interiors, or powerful diesel engine, the new Carnival is sure to make a strong impression in the Indian market.
