Tata Altroz Racer Teased Ahead Of June 2024 Launch

Tata Altroz Racer Teased Ahead of June 2024 Launch

Tata Motors has teased the Altroz Racer ahead of its official launch in June 2024. The sportier variant of the Altroz was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and later at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This new version will feature a more powerful turbo-petrol engine and additional features.

Teaser Highlights

The teaser reveals the half profile of the Tata Altroz Racer, showcasing a new orange-black color scheme and an extended rear spoiler for a sportier look. The alloy wheels, while maintaining their design, have been finished in black.

Expected Design Changes

The Altroz Racer is expected to include several styling enhancements over the regular Altroz. These changes might include:

  • Revised grille

  • Dual-tip exhaust

  • Dual white stripes running from the hood to the roof (as seen in spy shots)

Feature Upgrades

The Altroz Racer will come with several additional features compared to the standard Altroz. These include:

  • A larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • A new 7-inch fully digital driver’s display

  • Ventilated front seats

  • Heads-up display

  • Wireless phone charging

  • Enhanced safety features, including six airbags and a 360-degree camera

Enhanced Engine and Transmission

The Altroz Racer will feature a new 6-speed manual transmission, and it might also offer a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). Currently, Tata sells a turbo-petrol variant of the Altroz, the i-Turbo, which has a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (110 PS / 140 Nm) paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Altroz Racer is expected to be sold alongside the Altroz i-Turbo.

Pricing and Competition

The Tata Altroz Racer is expected to start at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the Hyundai i20 N Line in the market.

The Tata Altroz Racer promises a blend of sporty aesthetics and advanced features, aiming to attract enthusiasts looking for a performance-oriented hatchback.
