RTO Kashmir Focuses on Timely Online Issue Resolution Under PSGA

RTO Kashmir emphasizes the timely resolution of online issues under the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA), focusing on transparency and efficiency. Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan reviewed departmental progress while visiting Transport Bhawan in Bemina. Alongside monitoring construction projects, he launched road safety initiatives in Budgam, encouraging public participation and spreading awareness about safe driving practices. Discussions with local transporters also addressed their concerns, showcasing the department’s commitment to public-friendly operations.

RTO Kashmir Qazi Irfan Rasool has issued an order that all pending cases would be strictly processed online, and there would be no pending issues under the aegis of the Public Service Guarantee Act guidelines. This move is made to transact business with a vision to deliver efficient and citizen-friendly services.

Review meeting at Transport Bhawan, Bemina

The order was declared in a review meeting presided over by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan at the Transport Bhawan in Bemina. Mahajan specifically focused on the urgency of timely delivery of services and public-friendly operations within the department.

During his visit, the Transport Commissioner also made an inspectional visit to Transport Bhawan. He also directed the Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Power Development Department (PDD) officials to complete the work expeditiously and according to their departmental requirements.

Road Safety Campaign in Budgam

A spate of interventions on road safety was conducted for Budgam as part of the National Road Safety Month, courtesy Vishesh Paul Mahajan. The objectives here were to drive home a feeling of road safety awareness among the masses by ensuring that:

  • Mobile Awareness Units get flagged off-Vehicles that are kitted with the message of safety features will pass through the district conveying the message to keep driving safe.

  • Road Safety Stickers: Stickers carrying the message "Drive Safe: Save Lives, Your Family Awaits" were launched for promoting safe driving practices.

Mahajan said that collective efforts are important to reduce the number of accidents and death on roads. "Road safety is not just the government's responsibility but a collective societal effort," he said while campaigning.

The road safety strategies have attracted active participation from various groups, such as local drivers, youth, and community members. Through public participation, one of the strategies whereby the campaign is seeking to develop a more profound understanding of measures that ensure road safety and responsible driving practices is through public involvement .

Discussion with Transporters

He also met the transporters of the Kashmir Valley and discussed the administrative issues of the transporters. During these meetings, he told the transporters that the department will address the genuine grievances the transporters are facing with all seriousness.

The fact that there is open communication between the department and transporters demonstrates the importance of the cooperation the government is keen to realize with the regional key stakeholders.

Solving Online Issues With Urgency

RTO Kashmir's emphasis on PSGA reveals that the department is concerned about increasing the effectiveness of online services. Through the removal of delays and simplification of processes, the initiative hopes to eliminate bottlenecks and create a better user experience for citizens in terms of accessing transport-related services.

It may be a road safety awareness campaign or a matter raised under PSGA-the department is keen on making the transport system of the region more efficient and safer.

Under the able guidance of the Transport Commissioner, coupled with the active participation of the community, these initiatives will certainly bring meaningful improvement in the lives of people living in Kashmir.
