Renault India is preparing to refresh its lineup, beginning with updated versions of its two main vehicles—the Kiger compact SUV and the Triber MPV. These mid-cycle updates are part of Renault’s bigger plan to introduce five new vehicles over the next two years.
Both models were seen being tested on roads in India suggesting they might hit the market before the year ends.
What Changes in the Design?
Spy photos show that both cars have clear updates to their exterior styling. The front facias appear to have been updated, featuring new grille designs, sharper-looking headlamps, and sportier bumpers. They also seem to have new alloy wheels and redesigned tail lamps, which set the refreshed models apart from earlier versions and reflect Renault’s global design trends.
Cabin Revamp Inspired by Global Models
Renault plans to introduce major interior changes in the Triber. Reports indicate it might borrow elements and styling from the Brazil-specific Kardian SUV. The cabin could get higher-quality materials, a redesigned dashboard, and some extra tech features. The Triber will keep its 5+2 seating arrangement, but the missing headrest in the center seat of the second row is still being debated.
Engine options seem unlikely to change
Renault will keep the 1.0-litre aspirated petrol engine in both models. The Kiger is expected to stick with its 1.0-litre turbo-petrol option as well. Transmission choices are not changing either. The 5-speed manual will stay for both engines, along with an AMT for the aspirated version and a CVT for the turbo model.
Renault's Plans in India
Renault sees these updates as an important step to renew its lineup in India before introducing some big launches. The updated Kiger and Triber aim to gain attention ahead of the next-generation Duster, which should hit the market by early 2026. After the Duster, Renault plans to release a three-row SUV and a high-end electric car by 2027.
The 2025 Kiger and Triber come with bold design changes and upgraded interiors. Renault wants to keep them competitive in their segments while posing a tougher challenge to their rivals.
