Renault Duster Deliveries Begin Across India, Turbo-Petrol First, Hybrid Coming Later

Renault India has officially begun delivering the new Duster to customers across the country, marking a significant milestone for the French brand's comeback in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. While turbo-petrol variants are rolling out of showrooms right now, the hybrid versions are being saved for a November debut, giving buyers both immediate gratification and something to look forward to later in the year.

  • Deliveries of the new Renault Duster have commenced in India, currently limited to turbo-petrol variants

  • Hybrid variants of the Duster are scheduled for introduction in November 2026

Renault India has commenced deliveries of the new Duster across the country. It has been a long road to this point. The new Duster made its India debut on January 26, followed by the price announcement on March 17.

Now, cars are finally making their way to customers' driveways, and that is no small thing for a nameplate that carries a great deal of affection among Indian car buyers.

Turbo-Petrol Now, Hybrid Later: What Buyers Can Expect

At present, deliveries are limited to the turbo-petrol variants, while the hybrid versions are slated to arrive in November. This phased approach is fairly common in the industry, and it gives Renault the opportunity to build momentum with the petrol range before introducing what could be its most compelling powertrain option.

The SUV is available in Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno Plus, Iconic, and Iconic Launch Edition trims, offered with two powertrain options and multiple gearbox choices. That is a reasonably well-spread lineup, covering buyers from the budget-minded to those seeking a more premium experience.

A Feature Set That Punches Well Above Its Price

The Duster does not arrive underdressed. On the feature front, highlights include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, a powered tailgate, and a 518-litre boot capacity. That boot figure, in particular, is noteworthy; it is one of the most practical in the segment and will matter to families on long journeys.

Pricing That Opens the Door Wide

Pricing for the SUV starts at an introductory Rs. 10.29 lakh for R Pass customers, while the standard starting price is Rs. 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the top end, prices go up to Rs. 18.29 lakh (R Pass) and Rs. 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for regular buyers. That is a wide band, and it means the Duster can appeal to a broad cross-section of buyers without asking too much at either end.

A Crowded Segment, but Renault Is Confident

The Renault Duster competes in the mid-size SUV segment against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. It is, without question, one of the most fiercely contested spaces in the Indian market.

However, the Duster brings a combination of European heritage, practical dimensions, and strong feature content that should help it carve out a meaningful space among buyers who want something a little different.
