Renault has introduced the Duster Adventure Edition with fresh cosmetic touches and no mechanical changes.
The special edition is priced from Rs 12.99 lakh and offered with three powertrain choices.
Renault has given its Duster SUV a fresh identity in the Indian market with the launch of the Adventure Edition. The new variant arrives at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and comes just days after Nissan unveiled the Tekton, keeping the spotlight firmly on the country's competitive mid-size SUV space.
Design And Features Get A Rugged Update
The biggest talking point on the Adventure Edition is its styling. Renault has added exclusive decals featuring topographical contour lines along with the geographical coordinates of Leh, marked as 34.27 N and 77.60 E.
According to the company, these numbers represent the kind of tough terrain the Duster has long been tested and associated with in India.
Beyond the decals, the car also gains dedicated Adventure badging and premium floor mats to round off the visual package. On the equipment front, buyers get full LED headlamps, an electric panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car functionality through the My Renault app. The SUV also rides on 17-inch alloy wheels finished in a design Renault calls Ocean.
Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, nothing has changed. The Adventure Edition continues with the same engine choices already offered on the standard Duster lineup. The entry point is the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit, producing 100 hp and 160 Nm, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and priced at Rs 12.99 lakh.
Stepping up, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine makes 163 hp and 280 Nm. It can be had with either a six-speed manual, priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which tops the range at Rs 15.39 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
A Special Edition Amid Slower Sales
The Duster helped shape the mid-size SUV segment in India when it first arrived, though the current generation has had a noticeably quieter run. Industry sales figures show the model trailing well behind established rivals, with June 2026 marking its weakest month yet at just over a thousand units sold, a drop from the numbers recorded in April and March this year.
The Adventure Edition appears aimed at reviving interest and drawing customers back into showrooms, even though the update is limited purely to cosmetic changes.
Launch Timed With Symbolic Significance
Renault chose to unveil the Adventure Edition on July 14, 2026, which coincides with Bastille Day, France's national day. The event, held in New Delhi, was attended by the French Ambassador to India as well as the CEO of Renault Group India, who spoke about the emotional connection Indian customers have built with the Duster nameplate over the years through countless road trips.
The timing reinforced the brand's French roots while celebrating one of its most recognisable products in the Indian market.
