Noida is facing severe traffic volume violations; it has been reported that more than 75430 e-challans have been issued and 24 vehicles impounded in Noida for traffic violations. These regulations have been an initiative, which was mainly directed at strategic locations, led to a significant quantity of e-challans being issued and automobiles being seized.
Overview of Violations
The majority of the infractions were related to riders not donning helmets, which is a worrying trend that the enforcement drive uncovered. Out of all the infractions that were noted, the most challans— (4,710) were given for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Violations including not parking (863), driving in the wrong way (603), jumping red lights (284), not wearing a seat belt (223), having broken number plates (137), and triple riding (106), came after this. In addition, infractions about driving without a license (56), noise pollution (36), air pollution (61), and using a cell phone while operating a vehicle (48), were also recorded. Moreover, 'other infractions' was the category under which 403 challenges fell.
Locations of Enforcement
Several key places, including the Sector-15 Roundabout, Rajnigandha Chowk, Sector-18, 125, 62, Gaur City Kisan Chowk, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, and Kasna town, were specifically targeted for the enforcement action. These locations were found to be traffic violation hotspots, so the authorities should pay close attention to them.
Enforcement Measures Implemented
As part of the enforcement actions during the campaign, the authorities towed a total of 28 automobiles. Of these, 24 had their license plates impounded due to infractions of traffic laws. In addition, 14 cars had their wheels clamped to enforce legal compliance and discourage future infractions.
