Day by day, MG Motor India is adapting its high-end EV plans with the accelerated growth of new dealership versions --- MG Select. Roughly two days after the first showroom of its MG Select dealership, located in Thane, Maharashtra, the company has now announced that it is planning to open another 14 of these dealerships in 13 major cities of India by September 2025.
The MG Select is a special and exclusive retail chain that will provide a superior brand experience. In contrast to the traditional MG dealerships, such exclusive locations will include only the most advanced products of the company, beginning with the MG high-end, electric MPV and the Cyberster electric sports car.
The two models are the second-generation product strategy of MG. Not only does this new range include a bang-up-to-date luxurious and capacious MPV, the M9, with electric-car underpinnings and grooming, but also an all-electric roadster, the smooth-looking Cyberster, that appeals to driving enthusiasts who wish their performance cars could be made sustainably as well.
The two vehicles were just recently displayed at the Thane outlet, and it has already attracted a lot of interest, with their bookings already available, and they are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year.
Although MG has not provided any specific information regarding future models under the MG Select umbrella, MG has alluded to a multi-pronged approach to NEV (New Energy Vehicle) strategy. It comprises not just Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), but also hybrids and plug-in hybrids still in the pipeline and a wider commitment to clean mobility than ever before, and no single powertrain.

The 14 MG Select showrooms will be conveniently placed in urban and metropolitan markets as well as Tier-1 cities so as to achieve high degrees of brand presence and availability. The decision will reemphasize the plans by brand to redefine the high-end ownership experience of EVs in India, comprising high-tech infrastructure, customer-specific service, and special product offerings.
As it gains pace in the process of turning into a premium electric brand, MG Select will be one of the biggest players in helping the company redefine itself in India.
