Kia Carens Clavis EV Pre-Teased Ahead Of India Launch Today

The electric Carens Clavis has been officially teased by Kia India before its highly-hyped launch on July 15. Claimed to have a range of 490km, a three-row seat layout and a futuristic design, the Clavis EV will create a rupture in the electric MPV market. The bookings will be open later this week.

According to the recently revised ICE version of the Carens Clavis, the electric model is about to impart the industry-renowned innovation and practicality of Kia on the EV market, as bookings will open later this week.

Based on the teaser pictures, the Carens Clavis EV has a unique front-end characteristic that features a full-width LED light bar and three-pod LED headlight.

The Appealing Specs

On the front fascia, a charging port can be noticed, which also foresees an ergonomic and convenient design. It will also have the i-Pedal regenerative braking technology characteristic of Kia and will consist of seven seats and this will be perfect in view of family or shared mobility applications. Other options may also be offered, including a six-seat depending on the demand in the market.

The most notable ones are the fog lights residing above the skid plate, the use of dual-tone alloy wheels, panoramic sun roof, and the floating centre console that ups the decadence of the interior. Its interior will also receive dual digital displays, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and rear AC vents mounted on the roof. It is also anticipated that Kia may include the use of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology in the service to charge other external devices with the automobile's battery.

Engine

Although Kia is yet to disclose complete specifics, the company has confirmed a purported capability of 490km of driving on a single charge. Even though battery details are yet to be revealed, many are excited to hear that the Carens Clavis EV will have a 51.4kWh battery pack, with a 42kWh version being there as well.

Kia is ruling the budget electric MPV segment with the introduction of the Clavis EV. All the details, such as price, will be disclosed upon launching tomorrow.
