Mg Motors Unpredictable Decision Now Comet Cheaper Than Tiago Ev

MG Motors' unpredictable decision, now Comet cheaper than Tiago EV

When other automobile manufacturers were raising the prices of cars, MG Motors made an unpredictable and surprising move. In celebration of its centenary year, MG Motor India made reductions across the board for all of its model lineup. But at the time, the brand had only disclosed each model's starting price. In addition to the price reduction, the company has introduced the ZS EV Executive variant, which is Rs 1 lakh less expensive than the ZS EV Excite.

MG Comet is now more affordable than the Tiago EV

The Comet EV is leading the way and is currently praised as India's most affordable electric car after significant price reductions. The starting price of the entry-level Pace trim has been lowered by Rs 99,000 to an alluring Rs 6.99 lakh. The Comet EV offers an attractive value proposition in addition to its feature-rich offerings and ground-up electric design, especially with the Play and Push variants now seeing reductions of Rs 1.4 lakh.

With a single charge, the Comet EV can travel 230 km thanks to its 17.3 kWh battery, which produces 41.4 bhp and 110 Nm of power. It's easy to charge; a 3.3kW charger can charge an item from 0 to 80% in just 5.5 hours, and a full charge in 7.7 hours. Notably, the Tata Tiago EV, which is its closest rival, Now, with a starting point of Rs 8.69 lakh, it finds itself outpriced. Not only is it the most reasonably priced electric car in the nation, but it is also fully equipped with electric features and built from the ground up.

Hector and Astor's price revision is comparatively lesser

The Hector's petrol variant now starts at Rs 14.94 lakh, saving about Rs 6,000, while the diesel variant now starts at Rs 17.50 lakh, ex-showroom, saving about Rs 80,000. Compared to the Tata Harrier, which is priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh, ex-showroom, the Hector is now more reasonably priced.

MG Astor

The Astor now has a starting price of Rs 9.98 lakh, a Rs 84,000 decrease in cost. The Astor is now the most reasonably priced mid-size SUV available. There are two engine options for the Astor: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol with 108 horsepower and 144 Nm, and a 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol with 138 horsepower and 220 Nm.

Even MG ZS EV and Gloster witnessed a price slash

With the introduction of the new entry-level Executive trim, which has a starting price of Rs 3.9 lakh less, prices for the ZS EV have been slashed even further. The current Excite, Exclusive, and Exclusive Pro trims now retail for Rs 2.9 lakh, Rs 1.02 lakh, and Rs 92,000 less, respectively.

There is a Rs 1.34 lakh price reduction for the Gloster, the Toyota Fortuner's competitor. Ex-showroom, the price of the MG SUV is now between Rs 37.49 lakh and Rs 43 lakh. Interestingly, the Fortuner is Rs 4 lakh less expensive than the Gloster, with a starting price of Rs 33.43 lakh. MG has made a wise decision by keeping the top Gloster variant Rs 8 lakh less expensive than the Toyota SUV.
